Описание:
'My dear, I don't give a damn.'
Margaret Mitchell's page-turning, sweeping American epic has been a classic for over eighty years. Beloved and thought by many to be the greatest of the American novels, Gone with the Wind is a story of love, hope and loss set against the tense historical background of the American Civil War.
The lovers at the novel's centre - the selfish, privileged Scarlett O'Hara and rakish Rhett Butler - are magnetic: pulling readers into the tangled narrative of a struggle to survive that cannot be forgotten.
WINNER OF NATIONAL BOOK AWARD AND PULITZER PRIZE
'For sheer readability I can think of nothing it must give way before' The New Yorker
'What makes some people come through catastrophes and others, apparently just as able, strong, and brave, go under?' Margaret Mitchell

Widely considered The Great American Novel, and often remembered for its epic film version, "Gone With the Wind" explores the depth of human passions with an intensity as bold as its setting in the red hills of Georgia. A superb piece of storytelling, it vividly depicts the drama of the Civil War and Reconstruction. This is the tale of Scarlett O Hara, the spoiled, manipulative daughter of a wealthy plantation owner, who arrives at young womanhood just in time to see the Civil War forever change her way of life. A sweeping story of tangled passion and courage, in the pages of "Gone With the Wind," Margaret Mitchell brings to life the unforgettable characters that have captured readers for over seventy years."
