Описание: Reveals the "membership" business models of Netflix, Weight Watchers, and other industry giants - and how you can use them to lead your company to the top of the food chain. This book shows you how to radically rethink how your organization can build loyalty, viral growth, and recurring revenue.
Описание: This book challenges the prevailing assumption that Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) should be structured around a unitary EIA process. The book begins by identifying, through a scenario, eight recurrent problems in EIA practice. The characteristics of multiple variations of conventional EIA processes, at both the regulatory and applied levels, are then presented. The residual problems that remain after the conventional processes are described and assessed providing the springboard for a description and analysis of eight alternative EIA processes.

This book reviews our current understanding of magnetic storms and geomagnetic activity that occur during the declining and the minimum phases of the solar (sunspot) cycle. From discussion of solar and interplanetary phenomena that affect the magnetosphere, ionosphere and atmosphere, with special focus on how underlying processes interact, readers will gain advanced perspectives on continuing research and new research needs.
Recurrent Magnetic Storms: Corotating Solar Wind Streams sets the stage for evolving future explanations of fundamental response of the interplanetary and global systems to the sun. Scientists, researchers, and students who work in Magnetospheric Physics, Aeronomy, Solar and Interplanetary Physics, and who have specific interest in Space Weather phenomena, will find this book an important resource.

Описание: Recurrent pregnancy loss presents a vexing clinical problem primarily for medical professionals treating patients in reproductive medicine and in maternal-fetal medicine. However, with its numerous causes and various suggested treatment options, the problem is more multidisciplinary in nature, involving gynecology, genetics, endocrinology, immunology, pediatrics, and internal medicine. Exploring basic science and clinical applications, the second edition of the bestselling text Recurrent Pregnancy Loss: Causes, Controversies, and Treatment provides an authoritative and comprehensive update on advances in the understanding and management of this troubling phenomenon. The book covers basic scientific topics such as genetics and cytokines and profiles major advances in immunology, endocrinology, and thrombotic mechanism. It discusses the methodology of clinical research and the application of evidence-based medicine to clinical practice. It also reviews various late obstetric complications, along with issues caused by extreme prematurity and possible resulting handicaps. This second edition presents new material on the latest controversies, featuring opinions from both sides of ongoing debates. It includes new chapters on autoimmunity, third party reproduction, the use of immunostimulants such as CSF, and Chinese medicine. Designed for specialists working in reproductive medicine clinics and those involved with maternal-fetal care, the book is also ideal for generalists and gynaecologists seeking a comprehensive view of developments in the field.

This issue of the Obstetrics and Gynecology Clinics in North America will focus on the advances in the evaluation and management of Recurrent Pregnancy Loss (RPL) that have emerged within the last few years. Although spontaneous pregnancy loss occurs in approximately 15% to 20% of clinically recognized pregnancies in reproductive-aged women, RPL occurs in 2% to 5% of the same population. Recent reports on large populations of women with RPL have helped to characterize the incidence and diversity of this heterogeneous disorder, and a definite cause of pregnancy loss can be established on over 50% of all couples after a thorough evaluation. New diagnostic strategies, which include 23-chromosome microarray genetic testing of the products of conception in failed pregnancies, offer the promise of understanding the cause of most pregnancy losses. These recent advances, combined with the contributions from the authors in this issue of Clinics and many others interested in this field, lead to the publication of the long-awaited publication on evaluation and treatment of RPL from the Practice Committee of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine. A complete evaluation will include investigations into genetic, anatomic, immunologic, endocrinologic, and iatrogenic factors.
"Generally the book is well written by internationally recognized and dedicated specialists, informative, updated and well-illustrated. I can recommend this book for physicians, scientists and also interested medical students who want to understand more about high risk early pregnancy."Reviewed by Acta Obstetricia et Gynecologica Scandinavica, January 2015
Topological dynamics and ergodic theory usually have been treated independently. H. Furstenberg, instead, develops the common ground between them by applying the modern theory of dynamical systems to combinatories and number theory.
