Intensiv zeigt sich dieses Phnomen in der Literatur des 1. Jahrhunderts v. Chr. in der Thematik von Sexualmoral und Geschlechterrollennormen. Der Diskurs um Mnnlichkeit und effeminatio begegnet nicht nur in der Invektive und der Liebeselegie, sondern auch in der Historiographie, im Epos und in lyrischen Werken. Lsst sich im Zuge des politischen Umbruchs ein Wandel der Konzeptionen von Sexualmoral und Geschlechterrollen erkennen? Wie sind Vorstellungen von Sexualmoral, Geschlechterrollen und politischer Stabilitt konkret miteinander verknpft? Textpassagen von Lucilius, Cicero, Sallust, Catull, Vergil, Horaz, Livius, Properz, Tibull und Ovid werden untersucht, um diesen Fragen nachzugehen. Es deutet sich an, dass begleitend zur Krise der Republik auch die traditionellen Geschlechterkonzeptionen aufbrechen und mit der Konsolidierung der Ordnung zu festen Normen zurckkehren.
