He is an adjunct professor at the University of Colorados Global Energy Management Program and Michigan State Universitys Institute for Public Utilities. He holds a bachelors degree from Indiana Universitys Kelley School of Business and a masters degree in Management from the Kellogg School at Northwestern University.
