Описание: Kafka first made the acquaintance of Milena Jesenska in 1920 when she was translating his work into Czech. Due to their deep attachment, he revealed his diaries, and thus his feelings to her. Although her "genius for living" gave Kafka new life, the relationship came to an end after only two years.
The profound meaning of the way of the voice is very simple: everything that man seeks can be easily found through the voice.
Imagine walking along a road and encountering a fork in the shape of a "T." The road you are on does not go any further. Consider your available options. Can you only go left or right?
This book will show you how to become a guru and use your voice as a compass to find your voice, figure out which way to go and easily achieve personal fulfillment.
Milena Origgi, internationally recognized vocal coach, is known as the Voice Guru. Her special ability is to improve peoples voices, and by resonance also their lives, without the use of traditional vocal exercises. She simply "tunes" them to what she calls their Inborn Voice. Her goal as a vocal coach is always the same: to identify and foster the talent already present in everyone.
Milena lives in Boston (USA) and she trains clients from all over the world both in her studio and online.
This is her first book translated into English. Her previous one was published only in Italy where it has sold thousands of copies.

Описание: It's been years since Milena Reinhardt has seen TJ "Rock" Rockwell. The last time, he was nearly a shell of a man...but he was her man...and he tore her heart out of her chest. Circumstances unbeknownst to TJ have ensured Milena's never fully recovered. TJ left his sniper days behind-for the most part-when he left the Army and become a respected Texas Highway Patrolman. He also left behind Milena. He's convinced it was the right thing to do at the time, but that doesn't mean he's ever forgotten the woman who loved him in his greatest time of need...or has stopped thinking of her since. Neither thought they'd see each other again, until a pedophile's operation is taken down and the evil man sets his vengeful sights on Milena. This could be their second chance, even though TJ and Milena have enough secrets and trust issues to end any relationship before it starts. But when the bad guy closes in, they'll have to set aside their fears and trust in each other, to save the one thing that means the world to them both.

Описание:
In 1939, in the shadow of Hitlers occupation of Czechoslovakia, six-year-old Milena Roth was sent away from her home and her loving parents and taken to safety by what came to be know as the Kindertransport, which rescued ten thousand Jewish children from the Holocaust and placed them with guardians in England. When she boarded the train in Prague, expecting to be reunited soon with her parents, Milena was aware of the danger and terror that surrounded her: I knew I would die if I didnt go.
At the end of her long journey she found a xenophobic, racist society, an anti-Semitic country in an anti-Semitic world. Milena settled into the household of her mothers English friend from the Girl Guides, who had agreed to take Milena in and who planned to bring her parents to England as well. She spent six uncertain years waiting for her parents and enduring her foster mothers complex ambivalence. Milena learned only after the war that her parents were deported from Czechoslovakia in July 1943 and died at Auschwitz.
Whatever the faults of Milena's guardian, she had been genuinely fond of Milena's mother and preserved her old friend's letters. These she gave to Milena, and they form the heart of this book. The first letter dates from 1930; the last, written less than a year before Milenas parents were captured and murdered, is heavy with "an air of despairing farewell," an understanding that escape was no longer possible.
As an adult, Milena Roth spent many years piecing together the fate of her family and making sense of her life. In this book, drawing on her mothers poignant letters and on her own memories and experiences, she recounts the challenges of integrating, in adulthood, the wounds and bereavements of childhood and of "regaining the confidence of my place in the universe that had been lost."

Описание: This study of selected literary and cinematic works by Michael Ondaatje investigates the political potential of the Canadian author's aesthetics. Contributing to current debates about affect and representation, ideology critique and the artwork, trauma and testimony, this book uses the concept of the haptic to demonstrate how Ondaatje's multisensory, fluid and historically inflected writing can forge an enabling relationship between audience, author and text. This is where Ondaatje's micropolitics, often misconstrued as ideologically suspect aestheticism, emerges: a praxis that intimates how one can write and read politically with a difference.
