Описание: This text contains primarily survey articles of actual industrial applications of numerical analysis with automatic result verification and of interval representation of data. Underlying topics include branch and bound algorithms for global optimization, and constraint propagation.
Описание: Describes for what classes of problems interval computations (ie data processing with automatic results verification) are feasible, and when they are intractable.
Описание: Targeted audience - Specialists in numerical computations, especially in numerical optimiza- tion, who are interested in designing algorithms with automatie result ver- ification, and who would therefore be interested in knowing how general their algorithms caIi in principle be. - Mathematicians and computer scientists who are interested in the theory 0/ computing and computational complexity, especially computational com- plexity of numerical computations. - Students in applied mathematics and computer science who are interested in computational complexity of different numerical methods and in learning general techniques for estimating this computational complexity. The book is written with all explanations and definitions added, so that it can be used as a graduate level textbook. What this book .is about Data processing. In many real-life situations, we are interested in the value of a physical quantity y that is diflicult (or even impossible) to measure directly. For example, it is impossible to directly measure the amount of oil in an oil field or a distance to a star. Since we cannot measure such quantities directly, we measure them indirectly, by measuring some other quantities Xi and using the known relation between y and Xi'S to reconstruct y. The algorithm that transforms the results Xi of measuring Xi into an estimate fj for y is called data processing.
Описание: Focusing on special matrices and matrices which are in some sense `near` to structured matrices, this volume covers a broad range of topics of current interest in numerical linear algebra.
Описание: Based on the ISAAC Group in Pseudo-Differential Operators (IGPDO) held at Imperial College London, this volume provides pseudo-differential operators. Topics include the analysis, applications and computations of pseudo-differential operators in mathematics.

Описание: Focusing on fundamental aspects of numerical methods for stochastic computations, this book describes the class of numerical methods based on generalized polynomial chaos (gPC). It illustrates through examples Basic gPC methods, and includes polynomial approximation theory and probability theory.
Описание: The volume is a collection of high-quality peer-reviewed research papers presented in the International Conference on Artificial Intelligence and Evolutionary Computation in Engineering Systems (ICAIECES 2016) held at SRM University, Chennai, Tamilnadu, India.
Описание: This volume entitled "European Computational Aerodynamics Research Project (ECARP)" contains the contributions of partners presented in two work- shops focused on the following areas: Task 3 on Optimum Design and Task 4.2 on Navier Stokes Flow algorithms on Massively Parallel Processors. ECARP has been supported by the European Union (EU) through the Indus- trial and Materials Technology Programme, Area 3 Aeronautics, with the Third Research Framework Programme (1990-1994). Part A of this volume is focused on computational constrained optimization as a follow up of the EU research project" Optimum Design in Aerodynamics," (AERO-S9-0026) dealing with more viscous flow based real applications. It pro- vides the reader with a set of optimization tools and referenced data useful in modern aerodynamic design. Task 3 of the project entitled "Optimum Design" brought together 13 Euro- pean partners from the academic and industrial aeronautic oriented community showing state of the art expertise in traditional automated optimization software on current computer technology to improve the capability to optimize aircraft shapes.
