Carolyn and Christopher were living a normal existence when a positive biopsy for breast cancer changed their lives. This is a series of insights into what it is like to deal with cancer and the many facets of it's treatment. This is from the perspective of a couple that were unaware of what would be involved in dealing with cancer but gained considerable knowledge of the treatment and lifestyle changes that occur. This book is called Cancer Insights since it illuminates many of the scary unknowns that women who are diagnosed with beast cancer will need to deal with. It is also for the family, friends and especially for the spouse of the cancer patient to glean some insights into what she is going through and how to deal with it. The book is a graphic novel in a sense. In a sense because each page is focused on a particular issue, anditode or description of the common day to day things that a cancer patient and her spouse will deal with. The story is mostly told with images, drawn from real-life experiences of actual events as they occured. We receiced feedback on many of the pages from other cancer patients as the pages were created. That helped us to know that we were on track with many of the issues that the book deals with. You may read things that make you feel less alone, perhaps thinking "Hey, that happened to me too ". We grew a lot individually and together as a couple during our cancer journey and it helped bring us even closer together. This book is also a continuation of Carolyn's legacy since 50% of the profits of the book go directly to metastatic breast cancer research.

While a policy model may be presented as a "best practice," one that can be scaled up and successfully applied to other places, the local impacts of the model paradigm are far more ambivalent--potentially increasing social inequalities, reinforcing social stratification, and concealing injustice. With this book, Osteb ultimately calls for a reflexive critical anthropology of the production, circulation, and use of models as instruments for social change.
