GWF Hegel famously described philosophy as 'its own time apprehended in thoughts', reflecting a desire that we increasingly experience, namely, the desire to understand our complex and fast-changing world. But how can we philosophically describe the world we live in? When Hegel attempted his systematic account of the historical world, he needed to conceive of history as rational progress to allow for such description. After the events of the twentieth century, we are rightfully doubtful about such progress. However, in the twentieth century, another German philosopher, Edmund Husserl, attempted a similar project when he realised that a philosophical account of our human experience requires attending to the historical world we live in. According to Husserl, the Western world is a world in crisis. In this book, Tanja Staehler explores how Husserl thus radicalises Hegel s philosophy by providing an account of historical movement as open. Husserl s phenomenology allows thinking of historical worlds in the plural, without hierarchy, determined by ethics and aesthetics. Staehler argues that, through his radicalization of Hegel s philosophy, Husserl provides us with a historical phenomenology and a coherent concept of a culture that points to the future for phenomenology as a philosophy that provides the methodological grounding for a variety of qualitative approaches in the humanities and social sciences."

Mit dieser werkgeschichtlichen Edition wird ein Erganzungsband zu Husserls letztem Werk, Die Krisis der europaischen Wissenschaften und die transzendentale Phanomenologie, publiziert in Husserliana VI, vorgelegt. Husserls Arbeitsplan fur die Krisis-Abhandlung wurde rekonstruiert und in der Einleitung des Herausgebers' dargestellt. Die Texte erschlieen mit anderen in den Husserliana publizierten Manuskripten Husserls Weg zur Krisis-Abhandlung und deren Fortsetzung. Die Prager Vortrage: Husserls letztes Auftreten vor der philosophischen Offentlichkeit (1935), seine Stellungnahme zur publizierten Krisis-Abhandlung: das Handexemplar von 1937 und Husserls letztes philosophisches Manuskript (1937) werden veroffentlicht. In systematischer und wirkungsgeschichtlicher Hinsicht stehen die transzendentalphanomenologische Begrundung der Geschichte und die Lebensweltthematik im Mittelpunkt. Es handelt sich bei dieser Vorlesung zum einen um eine Umarbeitung und Neugestaltung seiner Logikvorlesung von 1902/03, die im Band 2 der Materialien veroffentlicht wurde, zum anderen um eine Vorstufe der in Band XXX der Gesammelten Werke unter dem spateren Titel "Logik und Allgemeine Wissenschaftslehre" veroffentlichten Vorlesung "Einleitung in die Logik und Erkenntnistheorie" von 1910/11. Husserl konfrontiert in der Vorlesung nicht, wie der Titel anzukundigen scheint, die traditionelle Logik mit den zeitgenossischen Reformversuchen dieser Logik, sondern er entwickelt in kritischer Abwehr des Psychologismus, zu dem er ausdrucklich auch Brentanos Reform der Logik rechnet, seine eigene Konzeption der reinen Logik. Konstitutiv fur diese Konzeption ist die Zweischichtung in Bedeutungslehre als reine Formenlehre der logischen Bedeutungen ("reine Grammatik") und Geltungslehre. Die konkreten Ausfuhrungen sind vor allem einer umfassenden Darstellung der Formenlehre sowie der kritischen Erorterung von bedeutungstheoretischen Streitfragen gewidmet.

Описание: The Phenomenology of Internal Time-Consciousness is a translation of Edmund Husserl's Vorlesungen zur Ph?nomenologie des inneren Zeitbewu?tseins. The first part of the book was originally presented as a lecture course at the University of G?ttingen in the winter semester of 1904–1905, while the second part is based on additional supplementary lectures that he gave between 1905 and 1910. In these essays and lectures, Husserl explores the terrain of consciousness in light of its temporality. He identifies two categories of temporality—retention and protention—and outlines how temporality provides the form for perception, phantasy, imagination, memory, and recollection. He demonstrates a distinction between cosmic and phenomenological time and explores the relevance of phenomenological time for the constitution of temporal objects. The ideas Husserl developed here are explored further in his Ideas and were pursued until the end of his philosophical career.
