Der Versuch eines Perspektivenwechsels hat das folgende Ziel: Nicht die sprachliche Variation selber steht im Vordergrund, sondern die sich in diasystematischen Markierungen u ernde Attit de der mit dem Unterricht des Franz sischen als Zweit- oder Fremdsprache befa ten Grammatiker des 16. bis 18. Jahrhunderts. Als Quellen dienen Sprachlehrwerke, die im (Sprach-)Grenzraum zwischen Maas und Rhein publiziert wurden, oder die f r ein Publikum in dieser zwei- bis mehrsprachig gepr gten Region bestimmt waren. In diesen Werken auftretende diasystematische Markierungen wurden systematisch ausgewertet. Im Mittelpunkt der mikrostrukturellen Betrachtungsweise steht die Frage nach dem philologischen Zusammenhang zwischen Markierung und beschriebenem Ph nomen. Auf der makrostrukturellen Untersuchungsebene werden die komplexen Zusammenh nge gepr ft, die sich zwischen Markierungsarten, linguistisch-grammatischen Ph nomenen und bestimmten Abschnitten des behandelten Zeitraums feststellen lassen. Die Analysen dieser Arbeit erm glichen qualitativ und quantitativ begr ndete Aussagen ber die Markierungspraxis von Grammatikern bzw. Lehrbuchautoren der Zeit des 16. bis 18. Jahrhunderts, im konkreten Kontext der Werke einerseits und im weiteren Kontext der Sprachgeschichte und des zeitgen ssischen sprachphilosophischen, sprachpolitischen und fremdsprachendidaktischen Diskurses andererseits.
