Have you, or a loved one, experienced guilt, shame, grief, regret, or other painful emotions related to a past abortion? Do you wonder if a past abortion is still affecting your life today? Do you wonder if there is hope for healing? If so, you are not alone. Out of Grief and Into Wholeness is the author's own heart-wrenching, yet hope-filled, compelling, true story of abortion and its painful repercussions. Susan's captivating story was featured on the award-winning radio drama "Unshackled ", airing within the U.S. and abroad. This book chronicles an amazing series of divinely orchestrated encounters, in which God revealed His compassionate, unrelenting love, drawing Susan to the hope and healing her heart desperately needed. Ultimately, God used an unforeseen encounter with a complete stranger to unearth the "box" where Susan had stuffed her abortion secret, along with all the emotional pain she tried so hard to hide, bury and forget. Susan's prayer: Dear precious one reading this, my heartfelt prayer is that through these pages and the use of the included resources, you will profoundly experience the love of God, which can heal and restore all your hurting and broken places and bring you peace. Susan Justice is an RN and served in the past as the Coordinator of an Abortion Recovery Ministry. Her desire in writing this book is to honor the life of her child, to help others who are grieving, to discourage others from making the same tragic choice, and above all, to honor and give glory to the God who saved her and brought her to wholeness. Susan is blessed with a wonderful husband, two sons and a daughter-in-law. Her family is passionate about serving the Lord and sharing the Hope of the gospel of Christ wherever, and to whomever they can.

Описание: Disability and spirituality have traditionally been understood as two distinct spheres: disability is physical and thus belongs to health care professionals, while spirituality is religious and belongs to the church, synagogue, or mosque and their theologians, clergy, rabbis, and imams. This division leads to stunted theoretical understanding, limited collaboration, and segregated practices, all of which contribute to a lack of capacity to see people with disabilities as whole human beings and full members of a diverse human family. Contesting the assumptions that separate disability and spirituality, William Gaventa argues for the integration of these two worlds. As Gaventa shows, the quest to understand disability inevitably leads from historical and scientific models into the world of spirituality - to the ways that values, attitudes, and beliefs shape our understanding of the meaning of disability. The reverse is also true. The path to understanding spirituality is a journey that leads to disability - to experiences of limitation and vulnerability, where the core questions of what it means to be human are often starkly and profoundly clear. In Disability and Spirituality Gaventa constructs this whole and human path before turning to examine spirituality in the lives of those individuals with disabilities, their families and those providing care, their friends and extended relationships, and finally the communities to which we all belong. At each point Gaventa shows that disability and spirituality are part of one another from the very beginning of creation. Recovering wholeness encompasses their reunion - a cohesion that changes our vision and enables us to everyone as fully human.

Growing up is never easy, and for one young girl who was left with an eye condition due to a childhood trauma, her resulting physical differences made things even more difficult. She often felt left out, heartbroken, and misunderstood. Her story is full of lessons that she learned along the way, and she shares a deep dive into the truth of identity, our thought lives, living unashamedly different, and what ties it all together-intimacy with Jesus. Different is a message of hope, a call to encounter, and a call to live a life surrendered to Jesus. Different is a message of encountering the life-changing love and wholeness found in Jesus. It is Kerry's hope and her prayer that you will use her story and these lessons to draw closer to Jesus and look to Him for all you need.

Описание: "In the wake of misconduct by trusted clergy and lay leaders, members of congregations find themselves adrift. Often there are deep divisions within the church and open, direct, honest communication ceases. Wholeness After Betrayal offers an understanding of these dynamics and a process to help members take the first steps toward reconciling relationships with one another.
This specialized instruction is tested and proven, having been used effectively many times in a variety of congregational settings. It holds tremendous value for institutional healing, both immediately following misconduct or even decades later."
Neglect and abuse in a child can manifest itself differently as they grow up. For author Barbara Kabot-Vena, she found herself moving towards escaping into her daydreams to the detriment of her sociability and studies. And after finding high school shell-shocking and horrifying, her thoughts moved to a darker place. Though it was not something she had thought of doing previously, one day, the thought of suicide popped into her young mind. It refused to leave, haunting her constantly.
It was after an attempt at killing herself that her parents had her institutionalized, and she would stay in the hospital until the age of twenty. For ten years following this, she would test out different avenues in life, trying to find a meaning and a purpose. She was able to move beyond her past and give whole-hearted love to her family. Suddenly, after years of living a blessed life, Barbara faced a cancer diagnosis. Though it was not an easy road, the cancer allowed her to grow closer to God and gain a stronger trust in Him.
Her testimony is one which speaks of strife, sin, loneliness, and more. But, Barbara's story is a powerful one, showing that going to God and finding yourself in Him can lead you to live the greatest life. She tells of the Lord's goodness and of His grace.
