Описание: In The Priests We Need to Save the Church, Kevin Wells lays out a blueprint of priestly heroism, calling for todays shepherds to take the narrow path of self-denial once tread by St. John Vianney, the priest-saints of old, and his own uncle, Monsignor Thomas Wells € a beloved priest from Washington D.C., who, before his shocking murder, led more than a dozen men to the priesthood and affected the lives of thousands.

It is the day-to-day witness of the sacrificial parish priest that will rescue a Catholic Church in seeming terminal disarray. Exploring the astounding impact that his uncle Tommy € thought by many to be a martyr for the Faith € had on so many souls, Wells shows how only the sacrificial and steady work of the parish priest can steer the Church aright, forming it into the holy, fruitful institution Christ intended two thousand years ago.

Описание:

The tight-knit Young family is famous for their champion red roan mares. The horses are priceless talents - and unable to reproduce. When Quart Young, a talented and ambitious trainer, discovers that his favorite mare is injured, he is desperate to find a way to treat her. Quart's aunt has created a biomechanical chip that can help the body heal itself. This chip could cure paralysis and cancer, and Quart wants his horse treated.

Suddenly, tragedy strikes and the Young family is divided. Greed and violence threaten to destroy everything they've worked for. When an offer comes in to clone his horse, Quart is tempted. But can he trust anyone when the stakes are so high?

The Red Roan Mares explores how much good science can do - when it's in the right hands.

Описание: The community of Flowing Wells covers 13 square miles, partially in the city of Tucson, as well as in unincorporated Pima County, Arizona. The area was named after the bubbling water from sunken pipes at the base of Sentinel Peak ("A" Mountain) by Warren Allison. Around 1895, Allison bought 500 acres of uncultivated land about three miles northwest of downtown Tucson. He and a sturdy team dug a canal, the Allison Ditch, from his wellfield to his land, called the Flowing Wells Ranch, to grow alfalfa, hay, watermelons, and cantaloupes. Farms, dairies, hatcheries, Gilpin Airport, and the railroad dominated the community throughout the early years. Urbanization was slow but steady, starting in the late 1940s. The community transitioned from farming to residential and industrial, with the school district binding the community together. Flowing Wells, while designated a community, was recognized as an All-America City by the National Civic League in 2007; its residents and those that work within the school district describe it as a family to this day.
