Esta conformado por siete capitulos derivados de las investigaciones del Grupo de Estudios Linguisticos Regionales (GELIR). Tres de ellos tratan el proyecto Diccionario descriptivo de espanol del Valle de Aburra. Un segundo grupo tematico esta conformado por dos capitulos derivados del proyecto Formulas de tratamiento pronominales en Antioquia y los dos ultimos capitulos del libro, tambien derivados de proyectos del grupo, tematizan neologismos creados a partir de la acronimia y el uso de sistemas de procesamiento de informacion en red por investigaciones lexicograficas.
