Описание: Este libro presenta un panorama general de la estratificacion social del habla madrilena. Se propone una aproximacion a la dinamica linguistica de la ciudad a traves del analisis de un conjunto de variables fonicas, lexicas, morfosintacticas y pragmaticas que se describen e interpretan desde los principios de la sociolinguistica cuantitativa. La investigacion se desarrolla a partir de dos corpus de habla, uno del distrito de Salamanca y otro de Vallecas, dos distritos muy diferenciados socioeconomica y linguisticamente. Desde su estudio, Madrid se revela como una ciudad linguisticamente heterogenea, con un nucleo social que dirige las nuevas tendencias y lidera los cambios linguisticos. Ese nucleo, caracteristicamente conservador, se encuentra rodeado de colectivos de diverso origen que, tradicionalmente asentados en las areas perifericas de la ciudad, van asimilandose a la comunidad de habla movidos por su deseo de integracion y de ascenso. El uso que hacen de la lengua es su principal marca identitaria, un uso que moldean de acuerdo a sus deseos y posibilidades de movilidad en la escala social.

Описание: Este libro ofrece un analisis variacionista de la expresion verbal de lo futuro en el espanol de la comunidad de habla bilingue castellano-catalan de Valencia. Se investigan tres variantes: futuro morfologico, futuro perifrastico y presente prospectivo, y los resultados se comparan con los obtenidos en otras comunidades monolingues y bilingues del ambito hispanico. Junto a este estudio comparativo que permite conocer el paradigma alternante en el espanol de ambos lados del Atlantico, la obra aporta nuevos modelos para el tratamiento estadistico de los datos. Frente al programa empleado tradicionalmente en el Variacionismo, Goldvarb, se muestran las ventajas de Rbrul y del paquete SPSS; entre ellas, eliminar los knock-out y realizar analisis de regresion logistica multinomial. Tras identificar los factores internos y externos que estimulan cada marca temporal de futuro, se confirma el cambio en marcha favorable al futuro perifrastico y se corrobora el proceso lento de una doble gramaticalizacion: valor modal del futuro morfologico y valor temporal del futuro perifrastico.
This volume sheds light upon one of the most emblematic constructions in Ibero-Romance: adverbial infinitives with specified subjects (e.g. al entrar Juan (Sp), para eles verem o resultado (Ptg)). The study attempts to fill an empirical gap and offers a cognitive-functional and comparative account on these constructions. The first part provides an overview of the notions of infinitive, subject and adverbial clauses. The second part consists of two empirical case studies. First, the use of the Portuguese inflected infinitive is shown to be sensitive to factors as the mental accessibility of the infinitival subject, the syntactic-semantic autonomy of the clause, the verbal nature of the infinitive and clausal status of the construction. Second, Spanish and Portuguese infinitives with overt subjects are shown to have different properties: in Portuguese they are more complex and clause-like (having more prototypical subjects and infinitives closer to the verbal prototype), while Spanish infinitives with proper subjects have a simpler structure and are more nominal in nature. More generally, this dissertation illustrates the flexible behaviour of the infinitive in different languages, even in two closely related languages.
