Описание:
My granddaughter, Mia Sheckleford, made her first trip to Jamaica, the homeland of her parents, when she was 3 years old, and had traveled there twice before she turned 4. Mia Goes to Jamaica recaptures some of the experiences she had in Jamaica, and also introduces the reader to some of the other things found in Jamaica.
Simultaneously, Mia Goes to Jamaica teaches the Alphabet to the younger readers, with each letter representing something that is found in that Island Paradise.
My wife Carol used all of her creative juices, combined with a Love without Limits for Mia, to come up with the artistic
backdrop for each letter, and we were fortunate enough to team up with a very talented young Illustrator from the Philippines, Vladimir Cebu, who brought the concept for each letter to life with the dynamite scene creation for each one.
We hope you enjoy reading this book, and/or reading it to/with your little ones, as much as we enjoyed creating it for you - Warren "Poppa" Landrum
Описание: The subjects discussed in this book will focus on a parolee and other released prisoners living out here on these streets 24 hours a day. My attempt is to help a parolee and other released prisoners survive out here. Every sentence, phrase and paragraph under lined in this book is why a parolee's parole was either violated or revoked. And is why other released prisoners ended back in jail or prison. I think future parolees and other prisoners who will be released from prison should know the mistakes past parolees and released prisoners made. I also shared the personal experience(s) of other parolees and released prisoners with future parolees and released prisoners. Every parolee and released prisoner in this country lives different life styles, in different communities with different circumstances and situations. I am hoping this book will plant in their mind what to consider and to think about what will be the cause of them encountering direct or indirect police contact.
The Dakota Sioux Experience at Flandreau and Pipestone Indian Schools illuminates the relationship between the Dakota Sioux community and the schools and surrounding region, as well as the community’s long-term effort to maintain its role as caretaker of the “sacred citadel” of its people.
Cynthia Leanne Landrum explores how Dakota Sioux students at Flandreau Indian School in South Dakota and at Pipestone Indian School in Minnesota generally accepted the idea that they should attend these particular boarding institutions because they saw them as a means to an end and ultimately as community schools. This construct operated within the same philosophical framework in which some Eastern Woodland nations approached a non-Indian education that was simultaneously tied to long-term international alliances between Europeans and First Peoples beginning in the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries.
Landrum provides a new perspective from which to consider the Dakota people’s overt acceptance of this non-Native education system and a window into their ongoing evolutionary relationships, with all of the historic overtures and tensions that began the moment alliances were first brokered between the Algonquian Confederations and the European powers.
Описание: "How to Stay Married & Love It!" Solves the puzzle of how to create and sustain a loving, passionate, healthy relationship. This volume in the two volume series covers the four essential pieces for building a strong foundation: Accepting each other's point of view as valid, (2) Fostering intimate connection by learning and using great speaking and listening skills, (3) Committing to respect each other 24/7 by productive management of upsets, and (4) Committing to each other and the relationship for life.Nancy and her late husband Jim share these skills which they learned as they navigated the mine field of enormous conflict to the SoulMate marriage of their dreams. Illustrations are also shared from couples they taught in their classes and who were personally coached by Nancy.Marriage is skill-based. It either succeeds or fails based on how the partners treat each other. Failing love is the result of poor relationship skills. Love returns, often greater than before, when new, effective ways of managing communication and conflict are learned and consistently applied.Giving up on a marriage because the love is gone is like selling a car because it ran out of gas! This book demonstrates "How to..." heal from past hurts, find solutions that meet both persons' needs and reignite love or build on the love you already enjoy!
