Read about the Coopers of Beckfoot and Duddon Hall - their successes and disasters and the following owners. Then in 1902 when it was sold for only the second time in its long history the new owners were wealthy Mill owners from Stalybridge and latterly in the seventies, there was the saving of the Hall. Also, read of the industries and people with rags to riches stories and discover the history attached to the original Three Shire Stones on Wrynose Pass. In re-publishing this book it has been my aim to add to the authentic original material which, in the main, had only been published in my previous book Bygone Folk and Industries of the Duddon Valley
