Although the characters in this story are fictional, the background is real. Like many fictional stories there are a few bits and pieces of reality woven through it like the treads in a piece of fine cloth. Each piece of thread holds the cloth together just as each piece of reality gives life to the story.

A thorough discussion on angle modulation with random modulating signals, along with frequency and phase modulation, and orthogonal frequency division multiplexing is provided.
