Описание:

Discover the magic of New York Times bestseller Melissa Foster's writing, and see why millions of readers have fallen in love with the Bradens.

A Note From The Author:

Treat Braden and Max Armstrong's love story is the beginning of my beloved Braden series and introduces you to some of my favorite characters, and to a family that has become so real to me, they're always by my side. If you are already a fan of the Love in Bloom big-family romance collection, you may have read Treat and Max's original story, Lovers at Heart. For the past several years, I have had the nagging feeling that there was more to Treat and Max's story than I had originally thought. One of the greatest things about being a writer is the ability to reimagine worlds and create new stories. I wanted to give Treat and Max a more mature story without losing the essence of who they are. This is Treat and Max's story, reimagined, and I hope you love it as much as I do.

In LOVERS AT HEART, REIMAGINED...

Treat Braden wasn't looking for love when Max Armstrong walked into his Nassau resort, but he saw right through the efficient and capable facade she wore like a shield to the sweet, sensual woman beneath. One magnificent evening together sparked an intense connection, and for the first time in his life Treat wanted more than a casual affair. But something caused Max to turn away, and now, after weeks of unanswered phone calls and longing for the one woman he cannot have, Treat is going back to his family's ranch to try to finally move on.

A chance encounter brings Treat and Max together again, and it turns into a night of intense passion and honesty. When Max reveals her secret, painful past, Treat vows to do everything within his power to win Max's heart forever--including helping her finally face her demons head-on.

***

Within the Love in Bloom big-family romance collection you'll find fiercely loyal heroes and smart, empowered women on their search for true love. They're flawed, funny, and easy to relate to. Characters from each series appear in future Love in Bloom books. All Love in Bloom books may be read as stand-alone novels or as part of the larger series.

Описание: Walter Schenck's adaptation of William Shakespeare's play, Hamlet, is an astonishing achievement, offering an existential adventure that brilliantly reimages the characters with skillful intrigue. Mr. Schenck has added dialogue to clarify ambiguous stanzas presenting the most formable and original poetry ever conceived for such a play, integrating history, politics, and religion beyond Shakespeare's skill. In this Herculean task, Mr. Schenck has incredulously maintained the original flow of the play, vastly extending it while boldly modernizing it. Mr. Schenck captures Shakespeare's intent so magnificently, he has, without a doubt, surpassed all Shakespearean scholars. Undeniably, Mr. Schenck has taken complete ownership of Hamlet. No work, anywhere, by anyone, has performed a more extraordinary job. Henceforth, Shakespeare's Hamlet will probably be known as Schenck's Hamlet. No greater praise can be bestowed on Mr. Schenck this this BRAVO As an added bonus, Mr. Schenk has included the best reformatted version of the original play ever offered, making it easy on the eye for every actor to know where the line is that they are reading. There is absolutely no reason for anyone to buy any other book on Hamlet, than this one.

Bodyminds Reimagined: (Dis)Ability, Race, and Gender in Black Women`s Speculative Fiction

Описание:

In Bodyminds Reimagined Sami Schalk traces how black women's speculative fiction complicates the understanding of bodyminds—the intertwinement of the mental and the physical—in the context of race, gender, and (dis)ability. Bridging black feminist theory with disability studies, Schalk demonstrates that this genre's political potential lies in the authors' creation of bodyminds that transcend reality's limitations. She reads (dis)ability in neo-slave narratives by Octavia Butler (Kindred) and Phyllis Alesia Perry (Stigmata) not only as representing the literal injuries suffered under slavery, but also as a metaphor for the legacy of racial violence. The fantasy worlds in works by N. K. Jemisin, Shawntelle Madison, and Nalo Hopkinson—where werewolves have obsessive-compulsive-disorder and blind demons can see magic—destabilize social categories and definitions of the human, calling into question the very nature of identity. In these texts, as well as in Butler’s Parable series, able-mindedness and able-bodiedness are socially constructed and upheld through racial and gendered norms. Outlining (dis)ability's centrality to speculative fiction, Schalk shows how these works open new social possibilities while changing conceptualizations of identity and oppression through nonrealist contexts.
