Powerful evolutionary algorithm such as Genetic Algorithm (GA) is applied for optimum design of friction clutch. The main objective function was to minimize the axial force between clutch plate and pressure plate, using diameter ratio and coefficient of friction as design variable and peripheral velocity as design constraint. The analysis in the present paper is based on understanding the relationship between diameter ratio and the design parameters like inner and outer diameters and peripheral velocity in order to arrive at the optimum design. It is shown that the dimensionless ratio of outer diameter to inner diameter is the most fundamental parameter, controlling all the major designs as well as performance parameters. The optimum design of clutch can be obtained, satisfying the constraint on design, by controlling design variable. The results of GA are compared with conventional optimization technique in order to satisfy the main objective function to minimize the axial force between pressure plate and clutch plate.

Описание: Failures in regulation and compliance were identified as the key vulnerability and disaster causes in most countries. The beneficiaries were actually unaware of non-compliance that exposed them to hazard. The literature review presented here draws attention to public practices from a variety of cultural/national contexts. Using Malaysia as a case study, this book focused on pre and post-disaster planning since the adoption of the Hyogo Framework for Action (HFA) 2005–2015. A review of the existing research and practice in Malaysia including the structure and attitude of government officers at central and local authorities to risk was the starting point. By using quantitative social science method, it was observed that attitude by all actors was a prerequisite for effective partnership in the research and development process. Actors’ attitudes towards regulatory compliance are formed from multiple causation (i.e. they are not easily predicted, they result from different causes and in particular are dependent on all five categories of variables related, (1) General culture, (2) Social structure, (3) Law, (4) Regulatory tradition, and (5) Regulatory work).

Bone Marrow derived Mesenchymal stem cells (BM-MSCs) have emerged in recent years as a practical and clinically relevant stem cell for the technique of cellular cardiomyoplasty. Enthusiasm for BM-MSCs is however tempered by evidence that cells from older donors show measurable and qualitative changes in their efficacy. This work provides a theoretical exposition on why BM-MSCs are a preferred cell source for cardiac regeneration, outlines aspects of their appeal that is diminished by natural aging, and discusses approaches to their in vitro cardiomyogenic differentiation. Also presented is a theoretical discussion of the physiological significance of nuclear cardiac troponins and tropomyosin with regard to BM-MSC specific cardiomyogenesis, the importance of the stem cell niche environment, and its potential contribution to diminished BM-MSC plasticity with advancing age.
