Описание: A component will not be reliable unless it is designed with required reliability. Reliability-Based Mechanical Design uses the reliability to link all design parameters of a component together to form a limit state function for mechanical design. This design methodology uses the reliability to replace the factor of safety as a measure of the safe status of a component. The goal of this methodology is to design a mechanical component with required reliability and at the same time, quantitatively indicates the failure percentage of the component. Reliability-Based Mechanical Design consists of two separate books: Volume 1: Component under Static Load , and Volume 2: Component under Cyclic Load and Dimension Design with Required Reliability . This book is Reliability-Based Mechanical Design, Volume 2: Component under Cyclic Load and Dimension Design with Required Reliability . It begins with a systematic description of a cyclic load. Then, the books use two probabilistic fatigue theories to establish the limit state function of a component under cyclic load, and further to present how to calculate the reliability of a component under a cyclic loading spectrum. Finally, the book presents how to conduct dimension design of typical components such as bar, pin, shaft, beam under static load, or cyclic loading spectrum with required reliability. Now, the designed component will be reliable because it has been designed with the required reliability. The book presents many examples for each topic and provides a wide selection of exercise problems at the end of each chapter. This book is written as a textbook for senior mechanical engineering students after they study the course Design of Machine Elements or a similar course. This book is also a good reference for design engineers and presents design methods in such sufficient detail that those methods are readily used in the design.

Consider a Viable and Cost-Effective Platform for the Industries of the Future (IOF)

Benefit from improved safety, performance, and product deliveries to your customers. Achieve a higher rate of equipment availability, performance, product quality, and reliability. Integrated Reliability: Condition Monitoring and Maintenance of Equipment incorporates reliable engineering and mathematical modeling to help you move toward sustainable development in reliability condition monitoring and maintenance. This text introduces a cost-effective integrated reliability growth monitor, integrated reliability degradation monitor, technological inheritance coefficient sensors, and a maintenance tool that supplies real-time information for predicting and preventing potential failures of manufacturing processes and equipment.

The author highlights five key elements that are essential to any improvement program: improving overall equipment and part effectiveness, quality, and reliability; improving process performance with maintenance efficiency and effectiveness; training all employees involved; including operators in the daily maintenance and upkeep of the equipment; and implementing early equipment management and maintenance prevention design. He offers a sustainable solution with integrated reliability condition monitoring and maintenance of manufacturing processes, parts, and equipment in the IOFs with a technological inheritance model-based program.

This book contains 15 chapters that include details on:

  • Improving the material-part-equipment system life cycle, reliability conditions, and manufacturing process productivity for wear, corrosion, and temperature resistance applications
  • Maximizing the component and system reliability growth of parts and equipment
  • Minimizing reliability degradation within the framework of a condition-based maintenance
  • Analyzing the reliability degradation, wear, and other competing failure modes of nickel-based hard alloy-coated part mating surface with a technological inheritance model-based program
  • Introducing a cost-effective integrated reliability monitor and maintenance strategy with a technological inheritance model-based software program

Integrated Reliability: Condition Monitoring and Maintenance of Equipment addresses potential failures from an asset manager, maintenance user, and operator's standpoint, and highlights the solutions to common failures and reliability problems for equipment in the IOFs.

Описание:

Handbook of Reliability, Availability, Maintainability and Safety in Engineering Design studies the combination of various methods of designing for reliability, availability, maintainability and safety, as well as the latest techniques in probability and possibility modelling, mathematical algorithmic modelling, evolutionary algorithmic modelling, symbolic logic modelling, artificial intelligence modelling, and object-oriented computer modelling, in a logically structured approach to determining the integrity of engineering design.

Handbook of Reliability, Availability, Maintainability and Safety in Engineering Design not only encompasses a depth of research into engineering design methods and techniques ranging from quantitative probability theory and expert judgement in Bayesian analysis to qualitative possibility theory, fuzzy logic and uncertainty in Markov analysis; from reliability block diagrams, fault trees, event trees and cause-consequence diagrams to Petri nets, genetic algorithms and artificial neural networks; but it also covers a breadth of research into the concept of integrity in engineering design. Such breadth of research is represented by the inclusion of the topics of reliability and performance, availability and maintainability, and safety and risk, in an overall concept of designing for integrity during the different phases of the engineering design process. These topics add significant value to the theoretical expertise and practical experience of process, chemical, civil, mechanical, electrical, and electronic engineers, by considering process engineering design from the point of view of "what should be achieved" to meet criteria for designing for reliability, availability, maintainability and safety.

Описание:

In today's sophisticated world, reliability stands as the ultimate arbiter of quality. An understanding of reliability and the ultimate compromise of failure is essential for determining the value of most modern products and absolutely critical to others, large or small. Whether lives are dependent on the performance of a heat shield or a chip in a lab, random failure is never an acceptable outcome.

Written for practicing engineers, Practical Reliability Engineering and Analysis for System Design and Life-Cycle Sustainment departs from the mainstream approach for time to failure-based reliability engineering and analysis. The book employs a far more analytical approach than those textbooks that rely on exponential probability distribution to characterize failure. Instead, the author, who has been a reliability engineer since 1970, focuses on those probability distributions that more accurately describe the true behavior of failure. He emphasizes failure that results from wear, while considering systems, the individual components within those systems, and the environmental forces exerted on them.

Dependable Products Are No Accident: A Clear Path to the Creation of Consistently Reliable Products

Taking a step-by-step approach that is augmented with current tables to configure wear, load, distribution, and other essential factors, this book explores design elements required for reliability and dependable systems integration and sustainment. It then discusses failure mechanisms, modes, and effects-as well as operator awareness and participation-and also delves into reliability failure modeling based on time-to-failure data considering a variety of approaches.

From there, the text demonstrates and then considers the advantages and disadvantages for the stress-strength analysis approach, including various phases of test simulation. Taking the practical approach still further, the author covers reli
