Описание: Fifty-two patients operated on for this type of spondylogenic myelo- pathy by the anterior approach were reexamined. The male: female re- lation was 2: 1. Fifty percent were males in the 5th decade. About 20% had a congenital narrow spinal canal with an ap-diameter below the minimal standard values (3). The maximum of spondylogenic narrow- ing was found between C4 and C6 in 2/3 of the cases. Results: good 44%, satisfactory 31%, unchanged 13%, deteriorated 12%, mortality O. The duration of the neurological symptoms before operation had no in- fluence on the surgical results. Final neurological restitution was reached within 1 week to 3 months after the operation. The operative results in patients with congenital narrow spinal canal showed the same percentual distribution as the results of the entire group. No factors could be found to explain the groups of unsatisfactory results. References 1. DECKING, D., STEEGE, W. ter: Rontgenologische ParametAr der Hals- wirbelsaule im seitlichen Strahlengang. Описание: Histological evaluation of the periprosthetic soft and osseous tissues is an important analytical tool. Its standardization is essential to generate accurate and reproducible data which allow comparisons for academic institutions, arthroplasty registries, and government regulatory agencies worldwide. It is also part of multidisciplinary evaluation of orthopedic implant failures and provides valuable information to be integrated with the clinical data, allergological tests, radiological exams, microbiological analysis, and biomechanical assessment of the implant wear.

Описание:
Handbook of Cannabis and Related Pathologies: Biology, Pharmacology, Diagnosis, and Treatment is the first book to take an interdisciplinary approach to the understanding of cannabis use and misuse. Recent worldwide trends toward decriminalizing marijuana for medical use have increased legal use of the drug and recreational use remains high, making cannabis one of the most commonly used drugs.
Cannabis has a wide range of adverse neurological effects, and use and abuse can lead to physical, social, and psychopathological issues that are multifarious and complex. Effective understanding and treatment requires knowledge of the drug's effects from across scientific disciplines.
This book provides an overview of the biological and pharmacological components of the cannabis plant, outlines its neurological, social, and psychopathological effects, assists in the diagnosis and screening for use and dependency, and aids researchers in developing effective treatments for cannabis-related issues and disorders.
Fully illustrated, with contributions from internationally recognized experts, it is the go-to resource for neuroscientists, pharmacologists, pathologists, public-health workers, and any other researcher who needs an in-depth and cross-disciplinary understanding of cannabis and its effects.

Описание: The definitive textbook on the management of cervical spine trauma from master spine surgeons! Understanding the clinical implications of cervical trauma requires thorough knowledge of the anatomy and physiology of the cervical spine. Cervical Trauma: Surgical Management by renowned spine surgeon Robert Heary and a cadre of prominent neurosurgical and orthopaedic spine experts is the most comprehensive, state-of-the-art resource available to date on this topic. The text begins with discussion of cervical anatomy and the pathophysiology of spinal cord injury (SCI), SCI classification systems, initial assessments in patients with cervical SCIs, and cranioskeletal traction, followed by injury-specific chapters. Classification systems and management protocols developed over the last 40 years have enabled spine surgeons to work collaboratively with specialists in trauma surgery and critical care to provide optimal management of SCIs and attain improved long-term patient outcomes. This book covers a full spectrum of trauma-related conditions impacting the cervical spine and multidisciplinary interventions including minimally invasive surgery, neurointerventional techniques, reconstructive therapy with bone grafts or alternative stabilization methods, evidence-based medications, and SCI rehab. Key Highlights Discussion of upper cervical injuries – from more prevalent trauma such as atlanto-occipital injuries, odontoid and hangman's fractures, and atlantoaxial subluxations – to uncommon injuries like atlantoaxial rotatory fixation Management of subaxial injuries in adults and children and cervical burst fractures Special topics including sport-related cervical spine injuries and return-to-play criteria, craniovertebral injuries in pediatric patients, and managing comorbidities such as congenital spinal stenosis and rheumatoid arthritis Pearls on handling potential complications and insightful guidance and rationales for choosing surgical interventions over conservative methods and vice versa Neurosurgical and orthopaedic residents, veteran spine surgeons, and allied healthcare practitioners who treat patients with traumatic cervical spine conditions will benefit from reading this outstanding resource, cover-to-cover. It also provides an ideal go-to reference to consult in the ER when patients present with cervical trauma. This book includes complimentary access to a digital copy on https://medone.thieme.com.
