Die Beitrage des Tagungsbandes analysieren aus archaologischer und historischer Sicht die strukturellen Veranderungsprozesse, die sich wahrend der archaisch-klassischen Zeit in den kretischen Burgerstaaten vollzogen. Erstmals werden damit die unterschiedlichen Forschungsansatze der einzelnen Disziplinen zu einer einheitli¬chen Perspektive zusammengefuhrt.
