Описание:
This comprehensive atlas presents the clinical practice of neonatal electroencephalography (EEG) through text, references, and detailed figures demonstrating normal and abnormal features of the neonatal EEG from the most premature infant to one month post-term. Each chapter contains dozens of full-page EEG images, along with detailed legends that place them in context, to emphasize specific components of the neonatal EEG as a benchmark for recognizing signature characteristics and interpreting clinical data. For the new Fourth Edition, Eli Mizrahi and Richard Hrachovy, established authorities in neonatal neurophysiology, have distilled the advances of the last ten years and provided the latest and best references for each chapter, updating their indispensable atlas to reflect current research and practice throughout.
"Atlas of Neonatal Electroencephalography" is a singular atlas, unrivaled in the breadth of its coverage and level of detail in presenting examples of normal and abnormal recordings of neonatal EEG patterns at varying young ages. This edition includes many new digital figures which emphasize findings in the premature infant, artifacts, and abnormal features, and expanded discussions of age-dependent features of sleep and bedside monitoring. Designed to appeal to practicing neurologists, neurophysiologists, epileptologists, and electroneurodiagnostic technologists, this book is a must-have for anyone involved in recording and interpreting neonatal EEG readouts. Trainees will also find this atlas to be an approachable and an essential guide to the development of the infant brain.
Key Features: Contains more than 250 EEG figures, including more than 60 new to this edition Presents comprehensive full-page examples of neonatal EEG from prematurity to term Includes chapters on approach to visual analysis and interpretation, technical aspects of recording, artifacts, normal neonatal EEG of premature and term infants, patterns of uncertain diagnostic significance, abnormal neonatal EEG of premature and term infants, and neonatal seizures Updated to reflect current references and clinical practice guidelines Comprehensive review and synthesis of historical and current medical literature relating to neonatal EEG
In Wrapped in the Flag of Israel, Smadar Lavie analyzes the racial and gender justice protest movements in the State of Israel from the 2003 Single Mothers’ March to the 2014 New Black Panthers and explores the relationships between these movements, violence in Gaza, and the possibility of an Israeli attack on Iran.
Lavie equates bureaucratic entanglements with pain—and, arguably, torture—in examining a state that engenders love and loyalty among its non-European Jewish women citizens while simultaneously inflicting pain on them. Weaving together memoir, auto-ethnography, political analysis, and cultural critique, Wrapped in the Flag of Israel presents a model of bureaucracy as divine cosmology that is both lyrical and provocative. Lavie’s focus on the often-minimized Mizra?i population juxtaposed with the state’s monolithic culture suggests that Israeli bureaucracy is based on a theological notion that inserts the categories of religion, gender, and race into the foundation of citizenship.
In this revised and updated edition Lavie connects intra-Jewish racial and gendered dynamics to the 2014 Gaza War, providing an extensive afterword that focuses on the developments in Mizra?i feminist politics and culture between 2014 and 2016 and its relation to Palestinians.

Описание: The book of Jeremiah poses a challenge to biblical scholarship in terms of its literary composition and textual fluidity. This study offers an innovative approach to the problem by focusing on an instructive case study. Building on the critical recognition that the prophecy contained in Jer 10:1-16 is a composite text, this study systematically discusses the various literary strands discernible in the prophecy: satirical depictions of idolatry, an Aramaic citation, and hymnic passages. A chapter is devoted to each strand, revealing its compositional development—from the earliest recoverable stages down to its late reception. A range of pertinent evidence—culled from the literary, text-critical, and linguistic realms—is examined and sets within broader perspectives, with an eye open to cultural history and the development of theological outlook. The investigation of a particular text has important implications for the textual and compositional history of Jeremiah as a whole. Rather than settling for the common opinion that Jeremiah developed in two main stages, reflected in the MT and LXX respectively, a nuanced supplementary model is advocated, which better accords with the complexity of the available evidence.

During the postwar period of 1948-56, over 400,000 Jews from the Middle East and Asia immigrated to the newly established state of Israel. By the end of the 1950s, Mizrahim, also known as Oriental Jewry, represented the ethnic majority of the Israeli Jewish population. Despite their large numbers, Mizrahim were considered outsiders because of their non-European origins. Viewed as foreigners who came from culturally backward and distant lands, they suffered decades of socioeconomic, political, and educational injustices. In this pioneering work, Roby traces the Mizrahi population's struggle for equality and civil rights in Israel. Although the daily "bread and work" demonstrations are considered the first political expression of the Mizrahim, Roby demonstrates the myriad ways in which they agitated for change. Drawing upon a wealth of archival sources, many only recently declassified, Roby details the activities of the highly ideological and politicized young Israel. Police reports, court transcripts, and protester accounts document a diverse range of resistance tactics, including sit-ins, tent protests, and hunger strikes. Roby shows how the Mizrahi intellectuals and activists in the 1960s began to take note of the American civil rights movement, gaining inspiration from its development and drawing parallels between their experience and that of other marginalized ethnic groups. The Mizrahi Era of Rebellion shines a light on a largely forgotten part of Israeli social history, one that profoundly shaped the way Jews from African and Asian countries engaged with the newly founded state of Israel.

In this book, Deborah A. Starr recuperates the work of Togo Mizrahi, a pioneer of Egyptian cinema. Mizrahi, an Egyptian Jew with Italian nationality, established himself as a prolific director of popular comedies and musicals in the 1930s and 1940s. As a studio owner and producer, Mizrahi promoted the idea that developing a local cinema industry was a project of national importance. Togo Mizrahi and the Making of Egyptian Cinema integrates film analysis with film history to tease out the cultural and political implications of Mizrahi's work. His movies, Starr argues, subvert dominant notions of race, gender, and nationality through their playful--and queer--use of masquerade and mistaken identity. Taken together, Mizrahi's films offer a hopeful vision of a pluralist Egypt. By reevaluating Mizrahi's contributions to Egyptian culture, Starr challenges readers to reconsider the debates over who is Egyptian and what constitutes national cinema.
