Описание: A jarring look into The United Corporation of America and those that are unconsciously serving it. This book provides a massive dose of truth and logic to transform hopeless people into the biggest nightmare of greedy billionaires, a fearless and informed public. It's long overdue that men and women with good consciences strike fear into the hearts of corrupt leaders that want only more. We've allowed a morally bankrupt minority to dictate the direction of our lives into ever-worsening circumstances. This book explains how this has happened and what we can do about it. Those once asleep are beginning to awaken.

THE STORY:
Everyone has a bad day. Graduate student Ian Nash has lost his girlfriend in addition to being dropped from a Ph.D. program in theatre at a Southern California university. When he stops at a local coffee shop in the lobby of a bank to apply for a job, the proverbial organic matter hits the fan. A gang of four robs the bank, and things get bloody. Ian is taken hostage by the robbers when the police show up. Now he has to save his life.
FBI Special Agent Aleece Medina's analysis of the bloody bank heist drives her into the pursuit of a robbery gang headed by two women. She doesn't anticipate how this robbery will pit her against both the bandits and the male higher-ups in the FBI while the media heats up during a giant manhunt.
The robbers are about to kill Ian, and all he has at hand is his knowledge of the stage.
EARLY REVIEWERS SAY: "Ian Nash is not an easily defeated man. He is a winner in spite of himself, and we love him for that." - Sam Sattler, Book Chase "Author Christopher Meeks synthesizes all with elan in this most recent narrative triumph. He unfailingly entertains " - Gerald Locklin, author of The Vampires Saved Civilization

Описание: Allegory in Early Greek Philosophy examines the role that allegory plays in Greek thought, particularly in the transition from the mythic tradition of the archaic poets to the philosophical traditions of the Presocratics and Plato. It explores how a mode of speech that "says one thing, but means another" is integral to philosophy, which otherwise seeks to achieve clarity and precision in its discourse. By providing the early Greek thinkers with a way of defending and appropriating the poetic wisdom of their predecessors, allegory enables philosophy to locate and recover its own origins in the mythic tradition. Allegory allows philosophy simultaneously to move beyond mythos and express the whole in terms of logos, a rational account in which reality is represented in a more abstract and universal way than myth allows.

In Border Citizens, historian Eric V. Meeks explores how the racial classification and identities of the diverse indigenous, mestizo, and Euro-American residents of Arizona’s borderlands evolved as the region was politically and economically incorporated into the United States. First published in 2007, the book examines the complex relationship between racial subordination and resistance over the course of a century. On the one hand, Meeks links the construction of multiple racial categories to the process of nation-state building and capitalist integration. On the other, he explores how the region’s diverse communities altered the blueprint drawn up by government officials and members of the Anglo majority for their assimilation or exclusion while redefining citizenship and national belonging.
The revised edition of this highly praised and influential study features dozens of new images, an introductory essay by historian Patricia Nelson Limerick, and a chapter-length afterword by the author. In his afterword, Meeks details and contextualizes Arizona’s aggressive response to undocumented immigration and ethnic studies in the decade after Border Citizens was first published, demonstrating that the broad-based movement against these measures had ramifications well beyond Arizona. He also revisits the Yaqui and Tohono O’odham nations on both sides of the Sonora-Arizona border, focusing on their efforts to retain, extend, and enrich their connections to one another in the face of increasingly stringent border enforcement.

Описание:
I refuse this life. I refuse this legacy. I will not become a wolf-killer.
Humans think Little Red Riding Hood is nothing more than a fairytale, but we hoods know better. We despise the woman who committed the darkest sin one of our kind can: falling in love with a werewolf and becoming his mate. The fairy tale didn't end the way you've been told. Unless you've heard the version in which Little Red was roasted on a silver spit over a fire, that is.
And I almost walked down that same path. But in losing the werewolf I loved, I also realized the kind of person I want to be. That's why I've turned my back on my heritage, denied my birthright. I will not hate werewolves just because they're werewolves. I will not train to contain them, dominate them, and if I so choose, kill them. In fact, I refuse to be a hood at all.
I've walked away from my old life.
And that was going great, until an English werewolf on the run walked into my new one...
