Описание: In this lush, magical, queer, and feminist take on Hamlet in modern-day New York City, a neuro-atypical philosopher, along with his best friend Horatio and artist ex-fiancй Lia, are caught up in the otherworldly events surrounding the death of his father. Meet Ben Dane: brilliant, devastating, devoted, honest to a fault (truly, a fault). His Broadway theater baron father is dead--but by purpose or accident? The question rips him apart.
Unable to face alone his mother's ghastly remarriage to his uncle, Ben turns to his dearest friend, Horatio Patel, whom he hasn't seen since their relationship changed forever from platonic to something...other. Loyal to a fault (truly, a fault), Horatio is on the first flight to NYC when he finds himself next to a sly tailor who portends inevitable disaster. And who seems ominously like an architect of mayhem himself.
Meanwhile, Ben's ex-fiancй Lia, sundered her from her loved ones thanks to her addiction recovery and torn from her art, has been drawn into the fold of three florists from New Orleans--seemingly ageless sisters who teach her the language of flowers, and whose magical bouquets hold both curses and cures. For a price.
On one explosive night these kinetic forces will collide, and the only possible outcome is death. But in the masterful hands of Lyndsay Faye, the story we all know has abundant surprises in store. Impish, captivating, and achingly romantic, this is Hamlet as you've never seen it before.

Описание:
Keywords in the Social Studies takes words commonly used in social studies education and unsettles them in ways that will redefine the field for years to come. Throughout the book, leading and emerging scholars in social studies education experiment with keywords central to the field seen as either taken for granted (such as family and technology) or perennially contested (such as terrorism and freedom), offering readers new positions, approaches, and orientations to what is possible to teach in the social studies. Focusing on democratic ways of living and being in the world as citizens, this innovative collection offers chapters organized around twenty-six keywords and ten invited responses to survey the unsettled terrain we call "the social studies." Each chapter attends to a specific keyword selected for both its contemporary applicability to different aspects of K–12 social studies education and to its dominant presence in the curriculum thought that structures social studies education in classrooms, museums, and beyond. Drawing inspiration from Raymond Williams’ work on keywords in culture, over fifty authors discuss complex and contested components of each keyword by way of offering diverse accounts that range from autobiographical narratives to historical genealogies, from critical implications of specific curriculum texts to offering vignettes of classroom teaching that deploy a keyword concept in practice. Keywords in the Social Studies is timely and essential reading for graduate students and faculty in social studies education and curriculum studies; students and teacher candidates in undergraduate and graduate education courses; and practitioners teaching in schools, museums, and other spaces of learning.
Whitlock's Compositions: A Biographical and Pictorial Story of How Charles D. Whitlock, Owner of Whitlock's Florist, Attempted to Compose the Lives of His Two Daughters
By: Charlene Hampton Holloway, RN
Whitlock's Compositions tells the true tale of three African American women who did not give up on their chosen careers and obtained their education during the Great Depression through the 1960s Civil Rights era. The relevancy of this story to today's world post-COVID-19 is powerful as author Charlene Hampton Holloway, RN recounts how her mother, C. Thelma Whitlock, was nursed back to health as a one-year-old baby by her mother, Parthenia Whitlock, during the 1918 Spanish Influenza pandemic.

Описание: Sometimes shadows can look a bit scary, but if you take a closer look, you will see that they are actually quite silly.
While reading this book, your kiddo will see that shadows aren't always what they seem. What looks to be monsters turn into little silly snakes, smart-looking sharks, and sleeping kittens. This book can be read or even sang with your littles at bedtime. There is even a diagram of how to make shadow puppets is in the back of the book for further exploration and imagination. This is a fun book that brings parents and children together at night with a fun sing-songy tune and some shadow puppets.

What REALLY happened at the Nuremberg War Tribunals?
This book contains shocking evidence that they were little more than lynch-mob proceedings, resulting in the Most Corrupt Trial of The Twentieth Century
It shows that the trials broke every legal precedent and procedure of evidence in the book. Evidence Was Tainted from The Beginning, The Verdicts Planned and Agreed Upon from The Outset. No Cross Examinations of Prosecution Witnesses, Their Presence in Court Not Even Required.
Blatantly Fraudulent Documents Were Accepted as Fact Over and Over Again. Impossible Events Were Accepted Into 'Evidence' With No Scientific Proof of Opportunity for Rebuttal.
Uninformed people consider the "Nuremberg War Crimes Trials" as the ultimate proof of the guilt of the German leadership before and during World War II. The transcripts of the proceedings, however, tell an entirely different story.
What You Will Read In This Book Is So Astonishing that you may find yourself reaching the Same Conclusion As Have So Many Others When Shown The Truth....
NOT guilty at Nuremberg...
