Описание:
The Keepers of ire is a modern-day fantasy. For centuries dragons have protected Ireland, their existence kept secret with the help of earth magic and their human riders. Now that secret is threatened as the bodies of four riders are found at sacred Irish sites. Christian Riley, a man with secrets of his own, is haunted by vivid dreams of each slaying. An American searching for her Irish heritage and the meaning of an inherited dragon ring, Devan Fraser, stumbles into the mystery of the murders. Christian's only memento from the mother who gave him up for adoption is a dragon pendant that matches Devan's ring. Together they discover their destinies, the truth of dragons, and the depth of honor and loyalty to which people will go to protect the ones they love.
"The Keepers of Eire is a wonderfully, intricately layered journey through the streets of Ireland and the many sacred sites which pepper its green fields. The characters are rich, multi-faceted, and believable, their strengths and weaknesses weaving into a tapestry to bring this story into vibrant life. The layers of history, the relationships in the families, and the decades-old histories between characters make this an immersive epic in the tradition of Dragonriders of Pern."--Bella Online

2020 Reprint of the 1963 Edition. Full facsimile of the original edition and not reproduced with Optical Recognition Software. D az took part in the campaigns against the Mexica, later called the Aztec Empire. He was a highly experienced member of Hern n Cort s's expedition. During this campaign, D az spoke frequently with his fellow soldiers about their experiences. These accounts, and especially D az's own experiences, served as the basis for the recollections that D az later told with great drama to visitors and, eventually, in a book entitled Conquest of New Spain. Therein D az describes many of the 119 battles in which he claims to have participated in, culminating in the defeat of the Aztecs in 1521. This work also claims to describe the diverse native peoples living in the territory renamed New Spain by the Spaniards. Bernal D az also examines the political rivalries of the Spaniards, and gives accounts of the natives' human sacrifices, cannibalism and idolatry, which he claims he witnessed first-hand, as well as the artistic, cultural, political and intellectual achievements of the Aztecs, including their palaces, market places and beautifully organized botanical and zoological gardens. His account of the Mexica along with that of Cort s are first-person accounts recording important aspects of Mesoamerican culture. His account remains one of the best accounts we have of Mexico at the time of the conquest.
