Francisco Lainfiesta, fiel seguidor de los ideales morazanistas, abraz con vehemencia la causa de la revoluci n Liberal de 1871. Hombre de confianza de don Justo Rufino Barrios, fue el encargado de hacer grabar los billetes de papel moneda que pondr a en circulaci n el Banco Nacional de Guatemala, cuya impresi n formaba parte de la organizaci n econ mica que necesitaba el pa s e inaugurar la imprenta para instalar en Guatemala la Tipograf a "El Progreso" donde edit un peri dico con el mismo nombre.
