The Ministry faces opposition from the Gay Enforcers organization and other people opposed to seeing individuals reaffirming their biological gender identity and religious values. There have been incidences of harassment and violence. Members of the leadership are in hiding to protect their families, as other staff members are vulnerable to attack. The novel offers hope and optimism in the midst of danger and tragedy. But God is still in control
