Описание:

Stuart Watson spent his first career earning a living by talking. His whole identity was wrapped up in being a Peabody-award-winning investigative reporter. Then he turned 55 and got fired. He began to doubt himself. He flirted with suicide.

To escape such dark thoughts, he began a five-year odyssey conducting dozens and dozens of interviews for a podcast, a book, and a film. Increasingly, those interview subjects were women. But all too often, Stuart interrupted or mansplained or flat-out argued. It didnt work.

So gradually he learned how to stop talking over women and really listen to them. The result is this book and a podcast called ManListening, in which Stuart elevates the stories of a diverse group of strong women who bounced back.

What She Said & What I Heard is a memoir told through a series of profound moments where a woman said something that Stuart actually heard. He shifted and changed because in a moment, he really listened.

This book is for broken people and the people who dont know how to hear them. If youre still reading, youre one of us.

Описание:

If you're looking for an effective method to treat anxiety, depression, phobias and more, then keep reading...

Cognitive-behavioral therapy, otherwise known as "CBT," is an incredibly well-known therapy method within the field of psychology. Yet, unless you work within this field you likely know very little about CBT, how it works, and why it is one of the best therapy methods around.

In this book you will learn about the amazing affects this therapy has been proven to have. You can learn how to use cognitive behavioral therapy from within your own home, helping to treat anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress disorder, panic disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, and more. No longer do you have to suffer in silence, simply existing through life. You can learn to heal and begin to actually live a full life again.

Whether you have been diagnosed with social anxiety disorder, major depression, post-traumatic stress disorder, or simply are struggling throughout your daily life without a diagnosis, CBT can help. While it is always best to go to a professional and receive a diagnosis of your condition, you can also use the tools of CBT independently at home, with or without an official diagnosis.

You can learn to better understand your mind, overcome intrusive thoughts, cope with daily stress, and transform your negative thought patterns into something more positive. Cognitive-behavioral therapy is truly transformative, and with a little daily effort, you could possibly change your entire life for the better.

The following are some of the critical things explored in the book:

  • The Basic Premise of CBT and how it Can Benefit You in Daily Life
  • The Fascinating History of CBT
  • 16 Common Mistakes and Myths about CBT
  • An In-Depth Look into What CBT Can Treat and Why it Works
  • The Key Principles of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
  • Overcoming Anxiety and Depression Step-By-Step
  • 3 Alternative CBT Approaches
  • Discover 7 Inspiring Tales of CBT Success
  • And so much more

Описание: The golden eagle is widely considered one of the worlds most magnificent birds. It is the epitome of wild places. The bird has a huge world distribution, and each pair of eagles has a large home range. They shy away from man so those who study them spend most of their time watching for, but not seeing the elusive bird. These difficulties and a love of the eagles hill country in Scotland inspired the authors. In Scotland, the golden eagle mostly lives on the hill ground of the Highlands where some of the mainland uses over the past two hundred years have been sheep grazing, deer-stalking and grouse shooting. Here the authors describe eagle numbers, nesting behaviour and breeding success in two study areas; in north-east and north-west Scotland. They use data from long-term studies, supported with research into historical documents. The result is a deep understanding of how eagles are faring, and how they have been or might be affected by human land use. Adam Watson and Stuart Rae have studied golden eagles for more than seventy and forty years, and have spent thousands of days in eagle country. Their professional research and personal studies have been on various ecological topics that pertain to the hills, and both have also climbed, skied and generally explored in much of the Highlands, always making observations on aspects of the hills and their wildlife. They are founder members of the North East Scotland Raptor Study Group, and they have studied other raptors besides their main work on golden eagles. They use an objective approach to golden eagles, as with their other subjects, relying on: field notes, reading the land, and interpreting how they fit in the Highlands.
