Описание: Letter Jam is a 2-6 player cooperative word game where players assist each other in composing meaningful words from letters around the table. The trick is holding the letter card so that it`s only visible to other players and not to you.At the start of the game, each player receives a set of face-down letter cards that can be arranged to form an existing word. The setup can be prepared by using a special card scanning app, or by players selecting words for each other. Each player then puts their first card in their stand facing the other players without looking at it, and the game begins.The game is played in turns. Each turn, players simultaneously search other players` letters to see what words they can spell out (telling the others the length of the word they can make up). The player who offers the longest word can then be chosen as the clue giver.The clue giver spells out their clue by putting numbered tokens in front of the other players. Number one goes to the player whose letter comes first in the clue, number two to the second letter etc. They can always use a wild card which can be any letter, but they cannot tell others which letter it represents.Each player with a numbered token (or tokens) in front of them then tries to figure out what their letter is. If they do, they place the card face down before revealing the next letter. At the end of the game, players can then rearrange the cards to try to form an existing word. All players then reveal their cards to see if they were successful or not. The more players who have an existing word in front of them, the bigger their common success.

Initially designed as thermal barrier materials for aerospace applications and fusion reactors, functionally graded materials (FGMs) are now widely employed as structural components in extremely high-temperature environments. However, little information is commonly available that would allow engineers to predict the response of FGM plates and shells subjected to thermal and mechanical loads.



Functionally Graded Materials: Nonlinear Analysis of Plates and Shells is the first book devoted to the geometrically nonlinear response of inhomogeneous isotropic and functionally graded plates and shells. Concerned that the high loads common to many structures may result in nonlinear load-deflection relationships due to large deformations, author Hui-Shen Shen has been conducting investigations since 2001, paying particular attention to the nonlinear response of these plates and shells to nonlinear bending, postbuckling and nonlinear vibration.





Nearly all the solutions presented are the results of investigations conducted by the author and his collaborators. Materials in future are expected to perform with increasing efficiency in complex and dynamic environments and efficient materials are often to exhibit simultaneous multi-functionality (structural, electrical, thermal, optical, ..), even in very dynamic environment. Hybrid materials design, in contrary to monolithic concept, is a cost-effective and accelerated approach for future materials design and development. Taking materials hybridization at smaller scale, as such at atomic scale, offers exceedingly high-payoff opportunities for optimizing materials functionality at reduced material consumption that is expected to lead to reduced qualification costs (eliminates many costly component and system level qualification tests). Taking the materials design in smaller scale through employing multifaceted approach along with experimental correlation would enhance confidence in the design. This approach would also provide foundations for future efficient and optimal materials design. Available monographs (books) on the street dealing with multifunctional materials design typically focus on a specific property tailoring (say, electrical, thermal, or other), but, do not provide a comprehensive methodology on designing materials contracts of simultaneous multifunctionality. In this monograph, a broad range of atomistic, meso, and macro scale computational methodologies will be covered towards atomistic and nanoscale materials design incorporating multiphase (hybrid) materials constructs for tailoring structural, thermal, and electrical properties. Incorporation of multiphase (hybrid) in the atomistic scale broadens up design domain for property tailoring much more than monolithic materials design, where the materials interface design constituting the materials hybridization is crucial.
