Traditional victimology texts focus on broad crime typology, such as the general crime of assault, without looking into victim selection or context. However, understanding the victim of the crimes is extremely important in the pursuit of justice. In addition, these traditional texts continue to exclude certain victimizations such as environmental crimes or white-collar crimes and more.
