On our first attempt we got as far as Leviticus. On our second attempt we made it through to Deuteronomy and thought, "we've read this before", not realizing that Deuteronomy implied the second statement of the law and if God gave the law twice, it must be very important.On our third attempt we got to Chronicles and got bogged down with all the numbers and lists of gifts etc. For several years after that, we gave up trying to read through the entire Bible: starting with Genesis and going straight through to Revelation. We wanted to first get the history straight.Therefore, we put together a listing of Book, Chapter(s) and Verse(s) that told the story, chronologically from Genesis to Revelation. Once we understood the history of God's work with humanity, we added the material we had skipped in our attempt to gain a framework on which to "hang" the rest of the Bible: the Law, Genealogies, Wisdom Books and the Prophets.This workbook is a result of our attempt to encourage other Christians who have found the idea of reading through the whole Bible a rather daunting task.
