Описание: Two New York Times-bestselling authors unveil new research showing what meditation can really do for the brain.

In the last twenty years, meditation and mindfulness have gone from being kind of cool to becoming an omnipresent Band-Aid for fixing everything from your weight to your relationship to your achievement level. Unveiling here the kind of cutting-edge research that has made them giants in their fields, Daniel Goleman and Richard Davidson show us the truth about what meditation can really do for us, as well as exactly how to get the most out of it.

Sweeping away common misconceptions and neuromythology to open readers' eyes to the ways data has been distorted to sell mind-training methods, the authors demonstrate that beyond the pleasant states mental exercises can produce, the real payoffs are the lasting personality traits that can result. But short daily doses will not get us to the highest level of lasting positive change--even if we continue for years--without specific additions. More than sheer hours, we need smart practice, including crucial ingredients such as targeted feedback from a master teacher and a more spacious, less attached view of the self, all of which are missing in widespread versions of mind training. The authors also reveal the latest data from Davidson's own lab that point to a new methodology for developing a broader array of mind-training methods with larger implications for how we can derive the greatest benefits from the practice.

Exciting, compelling, and grounded in new research, this is one of those rare books that has the power to change us at the deepest level.

Описание: Everyone knows that high IQ is no guarantee of success, happiness, or virtue, but until Emotional Intelligence, we could only guess why. Daniel Goleman's brilliant report from the frontiers of psychology and neuroscience offers startling new insight into our "two minds"—the rational and the emotional—and how they together shape our destiny.Through vivid examples, Goleman delineates the five crucial skills of emotional intelligence, and shows how they determine our success in relationships, work, and even our physical well-being. What emerges is an entirely new way to talk about being smart. The best news is that "emotional literacy" is not fixed early in life. Every parent, every teacher, every business leader, and everyone interested in a more civil society, has a stake in this compelling vision of human possibility.

Описание: For more than two decades, psychologist and journalist Daniel Goleman has been scouting the leading edge of the human sciences for what's new, surprising, and important. In Focus, he delves into the science of attention in all its varieties, presenting a long overdue discussion of this little-noticed and under-rated mental asset that matters enormously for how we navigate life. Goleman boils down attention research into a three parts: inner, other, and outer focus.

Goleman shows why high-achievers need all three kinds of focus, as demonstrated by rich case studies from fields as diverse as competitive sports, education, the arts, and business. Those who excel rely on what Goleman calls Smart Practices such as mindfulness meditation, focused preparation and recovery, positive emotions and connections, and mental 'prosthetics' that help them improve habits, add new skills, and sustain excellence. Combining cutting-edge research with practical findings, Focus reveals what distinguishes experts from amateurs and stars from average performers.

In Focus, psychologist and journalist Daniel Goleman delves into the science of attention in all its varieties, presenting a long-overdue discussion of this little-noticed and underrated mental asset that matters enormously for how we navigate life.

Attention works much like a muscle: use it poorly and it can wither; work it well and it grows. In an era of unstoppable distractions, Goleman persuasively argues that now more than ever we must learn to sharpen focus if we are to contend with, let alone thrive in, a complex world. Goleman analyzes attention research as a threesome: inner, other, and outer focus. He shows why high-performers need all three kinds of focus, as demonstrated by rich case studies from fields as diverse as competitive sports, education, the arts, and business. Those who excel rely on what Goleman calls smart practice that helps them improve habits, add new skills, and sustain excellence.

Combining cutting-edge research with practical findings, Focus reveals what distinguishes experts from amateurs and stars from average performers.

Описание: #1 BESTSELLER - The groundbreaking book that redefines what it means to be smart, with a new introduction by the author

"A thoughtfully written, persuasive account explaining emotional intelligence and why it can be crucial."--USA Today

Everyone knows that high IQ is no guarantee of success, happiness, or virtue, but until Emotional Intelligence, we could only guess why. Daniel Goleman's brilliant report from the frontiers of psychology and neuroscience offers startling new insight into our "two minds"--the rational and the emotional--and how they together shape our destiny.

Drawing on groundbreaking brain and behavioral research, Goleman shows the factors at work when people of high IQ flounder and those of modest IQ do surprisingly well. These factors, which include self-awareness, self-discipline, and empathy, add up to a different way of being smart--and they aren't fixed at birth. Although shaped by childhood experiences, emotional intelligence can be nurtured and strengthened throughout our adulthood--with immediate benefits to our health, our relationships, and our work.

The twenty-fifth-anniversary edition of Emotional Intelligence could not come at a better time--we spend so much of our time online, more and more jobs are becoming automated and digitized, and our children are picking up new technology faster than we ever imagined. With a new introduction from the author, the twenty-fifth-anniversary edition prepares readers, now more than ever, to reach their fullest potential and stand out from the pack with the help of EI.

Do you want to know everything about Abuse in Relationship?

Your Customers Will Never Stop To Use This Amazing Guide

One can, however, agree with the fact that mind control easily falls under the umbrella of influence and persuasion which deals with the way people change other people's beliefs and behaviors. While some would like to argue that all falls under manipulation, it is important to take note of the missing distinctions in this argument.

It is much better to think of influence as a continuum because at one end there are the ethical and respectful influences that make room for giving respect to an individual in relation to his or her rights while at the other end there are destructive influences that rip off a person's independence, identity and his ability to come up with critical and logical thoughts.

When it comes to the darker side of the continuum, we talk about cults and sects. These are the groups of people who make use of deception and mind control skills in taking advantage of its member's strengths and weaknesses in order to satisfy the selfish desires of the cult leaders.

There are one-on-one cults which are intimate relationships where a person manipulates and exploits others using their own influence. These are cultic relationships which are a smaller version of the larger groups that may prove to be destructive as a result of the fact that all the time and attention available are directed towards a person. These relationships may come in the form of husband/wife, pastor/worshipper, teacher/student or therapist/client.

The best way to pin a definition to mind control is to look at it from the angle of a system of certain influences that can disrupt a person at their core and at their identity level which has to do with their preferences, beliefs, behaviors, relationships, decisions and so on.

When a person becomes a victim of mind control, he is unaware of the influence process as well as the changes that are taking place within him.

In discussing this topic, however, it is of uttermost importance to take note of some certain distinctions, as there are some points that need to be made clear.

It is insidious because the purpose of mind control in some cases is to entrap and cause harm to the victim.

Another distinct point to note is that it is a process that doesn't just happen in an instant. It usually takes a lot of time, which depends on factors like the skills of the manipulator, the methods that the manipulator has decided to make use of, the length of time that the victim was exposed to the techniques and other personal factors.

This book covers:

  • Recovering from Abuse in Relationships
  • The Power of Persuasion
  • Defining Desired Outcomes
  • Mind Control Techniques
  • Mind Control with NLP for Love and Relationships
  • The Most Powerful Mind-Power Tool
  • Assuming Success

And much more

It's all about taking the time it takes to learn and practice in the real world once you've decided to undertake the art of dark psychology. It's impossible to become comfortable with these techniques without observation and practice. You will find that the more confident you are with your strategies, the more comfortable and more natural they will happen, leaving your targets entirely in the dark about what's going on under the surface.

Описание: Emotional Intelligence was an international phenomenon, appearing on the New York Times bestseller list for over a year and selling more than five million copies worldwide. Now, once again, Daniel Goleman has written a groundbreaking synthesis of the latest findings in biology and brain science, revealing that we are "wired to connect" and the surprisingly deep impact of our relationships on every aspect of our lives.

Far more than we are consciously aware, our daily encounters with parents, spouses, bosses, and even strangers shape our brains and affect cells throughout our bodies--down to the level of our genes--for good or ill. In Social Intelligence, Daniel Goleman explores an emerging new science with startling implications for our interpersonal world. Its most fundamental discovery: we are designed for sociability, constantly engaged in a "neural ballet" that connects us brain to brain with those around us.

Our reactions to others, and theirs to us, have a far-reaching biological impact, sending out cascades of hormones that regulate everything from our hearts to our immune systems, making good relationships act like vitamins--and bad relationships like poisons. We can "catch" other people's emotions the way we catch a cold, and the consequences of isolation or relentless social stress can be life-shortening. Goleman explains the surprising accuracy of first impressions, the basis of charisma and emotional power, the complexity of sexual attraction, and how we detect lies. He describes the "dark side" of social intelligence, from narcissism to Machiavellianism and psychopathy. He also reveals our astonishing capacity for "mindsight," as well as the tragedy of those, like autistic children, whose mindsight is impaired.

Is there a way to raise our children to be happy? What is the basis of a nourishing marriage? How can business leaders and teachers inspire the best in those they lead and teach? How can groups divided by prejudice and hatred come to live together in peace?

The answers to these questions may not be as elusive as we once thought. And Goleman delivers his most heartening news with powerful conviction: we humans have a built-in bias toward empathy, cooperation, and altruism-provided we develop the social intelligence to nurture these capacities in ourselves and others.

Описание: Are you attracted to people centered only on themselves? Do you want to understand the reasons you feel attracted to this type of persons?

Would you like to learn how to stop this process?

In these cases understanding and learning how to avoid falling into the narcissist trap and knowing that you can learn to rebuild yourself shall become your goal achievement.

These are two beings who find themselves pulled toward each other again and again, the Narcissist calling out for the compassion and generosity of the Empath and the Empath selflessly answering the call. This relationship results in much pain and emotional exhaustion on the part of the Empath, and the Narcissist often ends up fleeing the relationship out of a keen sense of not being in control of the situation once the Empath starts realizing the damage they are undergoing.

So why do these two keep finding themselves locked into this same cycle over and over again?

In this book, we will explore many of the concepts involved in the Empath/Narcissist bond, such as:

  • Reasons why narcissists mirror themselves in the eye of the empathic
  • Emapthic vs Narcissist: perspectives and limitations of a toxic relationship
  • Effective techniques to avoid getting trapped in the narcissist's net
  • The steps to protect and rebuild oneself and after a destructive relationship
  • Traits of personalities that discern between a selfish person and a narcissist.

This reading will help you to recognize the pattern of toxic relationships and how narcissists make you feel. You will finally be able to find your way to build healthy and satisfying relationships
