Описание: The role of the manufacturing sector in the overall development of an economy can never be undermined. In an emerging economy like India, the role of the manufacturing sector is even more critical. As a source of employment, hub of technological progress, and an accelerator of output growth in other sectors, it is paramount that the manufacturing firms are resilient to cope with the challenges posed by the dynamic business environment of today.
This book explores the role of microeconomic and macroeconomic factors in determining the level of efficiency, profitability and the stock market performance of the firms in the Indian manufacturing sector. Focusing specifically on the post-reform era, the authors take stock of the inherent distinctive characteristics of the different sectors across the manufacturing industry, which are understandably different. Emphasizing the changing scenario of the manufacturing sector under different policy regimes, and providing access to critical information, this book equips readers to understand how prudent, and informed, managerial decisions are made. It is a go-to reference book in comprehending the real issues of the manufacturing sector in the changing Indian environment, and a useful resource for students and researchers of commerce, management, economics, and the wider field of business studies.
The purpose of this study is to determine the role of tourism in the economy of Bulgaria. In this paper, we present the history of the Bulgarian tourism industry trends from the beginning to its contemporary policy patterns. We apply an econometric methodology consisting of unit root test, cointegration analysis, linear regression, correlation analysis, Granger causality test and 3-D visualizations by IBM Watson Studio based on the statistics for the period 1980-2017. Exploring the link between tourism and the economic development of Bulgaria, the tourism - led - growth hypothesis about Bulgaria is validated for the post-communism period. Our findings show that a relationship between tourism and Bulgaria's economic development exists. We can conclude that tourism is in part an endogenous growth process.

Описание:
Located at the centre of the Balkan Peninsula, Bulgaria serves as a natural stepping stone to the Straits, the Eastern Mediterranean and the Middle East. Its geo-strategic position has frequently attracted foreign powers - including Great Britain and the Soviet Union - with an array of regional and global interests. NP] A succession of Great Power influences in the Balkans both shaped Bulgaria's international place and marked its domestic policy. This book explores Britain's involvement in Bulgaria between 1943 and 1949, providing a new understanding of the origins of the Cold War in the region.
Divided into three parts, the book examines the priorities of Britain during and after World War II, investigates the practical integration of strategic and ideological objectives in British foreign policy, and maps Britain's diminishing interest in the country alongside the parallel consolidation of communist power and the increasing Soviet presence.
Using recently released sources from the Bulgarian and Soviet communist parties and foreign ministries, the author revisits the question of British attitudes towards Eastern Europe. This book offers a new approach to understanding the origins of the Cold War in Bulgaria and bridges significant gaps in the treatment of the country in English-language literature.
