Описание:

This volume is an important contribution to our understanding of global pandemics in general and Covid-19 in particular. It brings together the reflections of leading social and political scientists who are interested in the implications and significance of the current crisis for politics and society.

The chapters provide both analysis of the social and political dimensions of the Coronavirus pandemic and historical contextualization as well as perspectives beyond the crisis. The volume seeks to focus on Covid-19 not simply as the terrain of epidemiology or public health, but as raising fundamental questions about the nature of social, economic and political processes. The problems of contemporary societies have become intensified as a result of the pandemic. Understanding the pandemic is as much a sociological question as it is a biological one, since viral infections are transmitted through social interaction. In many ways, the pandemic poses fundamental existential as well as political questions about social life as well as exposing many of the inequalities in contemporary societies. As the chapters in this volume show, epidemiological issues and sociological problems are elucidated in many ways around the themes of power, politics, security, suffering, equality and justice.

This is a cutting edge and accessible volume on the Covid-19 pandemic with chapters on topics such as the nature and limits of expertise, democratization, emergency government, digitalization, social justice, globalization, capitalist crisis, and the ecological crisis.

If you are looking for a complete guide on coronavirus, then keep reading...

In the following guide, you will find tips on how to prepare for many of the possible worst-case scenarios that could develop due to Coronavirus.

We cover tips on your personal well-being; on securing access to enough water and food to keep your family healthy; on ensuring that you are able to stay sheltered and warm; on maintaining your health; and we offer some tips on what you could do to keep your wealth safe in the event of Coronavirus.

In late 2019 a new virus started causing alarm in Wuhan, China. Early reports were suppressed but eventually word got out, and now coronavirus is spreading globally.

What we care about is that you are prepared for whatever eventualities may befall you after due to coronavirus. We leave the predictions to the pundits in the newsrooms - some wail that the outcome will be catastrophic, others believe nothing will change at all, and some think that life will never be better. Who really knows what's going to happen? No one.

We are focused on worst-case scenarios and how to be best prepared for them. That doesn't mean that these things will actually happen But by following and implementing the simple tips in this guide, if the worst does happen, you could stand a stronger chance of not just surviving- but thriving.

There are many threats from a coronavirus. Supply lines for food, water, medicines, electricity, fuel and other essentials we take for granted could be compromised - for an unknown length of time. The knock-on effects to our jobs, to our banking system and to our normal way of life could be serious.

But there are no guarantees. We do not have a crystal ball.

This book is not offering 100% cast-iron advice- and is not intended to be used as such- that would be impossible considering the ever-changing situation we all could face and adopting such an approach could end up working against you as the need for adaptability is always key. Instead, this book provides structured tips and ideas to help you develop your own solutions to the problems that you may face.

The new type of coronavirus typically causes upper respiratory infection symptoms such as a cough, stuffy nose, and sore throat. Also, children with coronavirus can have a middle ear infection as a symptom. Sometimes, coronavirus can be treated with over-the-counter medication and rest, while in some cases, it can be deadly.

In this book, I will be giving you exclusive information on what coronavirus is, their types, symptoms, and how it is transmitted. I will also be showing you ways on how to prevent yourself from being infected with coronavirus, and what to do if you get infected.

This book aims at answering any questions you might have about the new coronavirus and educate you on some of the information you don't know about the virus yet. This book is helpful for people that haven't been infected but seek to understand more about it to avoid being infected and people who already have it and don't know what to do. So, let's get to it

Описание:

In the case of the last virus, the most ideal carrier animal for is a bat or snake, since humans don't consume snakes and bats in several areas of the world, but in some places like China they are consumed, and it is suspected that the new outbreak is also linked to the consumption of an infected bat. The same is the cause for other virus outbreaks in the past.

To prevent future epidemics, governments must take action on making policies for the sale and purchase of livestock like bats and snakes, and proper testing should be done before taking wild animals to the big markets near denser urban areas. One is the virus being brought into the market by an infected individual, the second is about the virus getting in the market with one infected animal, and the third predicts about the virus getting in the market with the help of several animals at once.

This book covers the following topics:

  • A Brief History
  • Business Risk and Continuity Planning
  • Who Is Most At Risk?
  • Modern Virus
  • Protecting Yourself Using Mask

...and much more

As far as animals are concerned, numerous contagious diseases have been transmitted from animals to humans by living with them and consuming them. Viruses keep adapting to different organisms and somewhere in between some humans consume them and get infected with a new type of viral or bacterial infection.

At this time, many people are wondering about how the actual outbreak started. Many suspected the Seafood Market to be the origin of the outbreak. But now the latest paper written by a large group of Chinese researchers from various institutions offers in-depth details about the people who got admitted into the hospital. It is said in the paper that the first person was admitted to the hospital no connection with the Seafood Market was found, and the number of people unrelated to the seafood market was a large percentage, according to Daniel Lucey, an infectious disease specialist at Georgetown University.

But it doesn't mean the virus hasn't been spread through the Seafood market, as many stalls were tested and showed a positive sign of the virus. Well, it is impossible to find an exact place of origin for this infectious and contagious disease, but it is also believed that it spread from animals to humans and then reached the Seafood Market, where it got a chance to infect the rest of the visitors in market.

Furthermore, Lucey says that the virus should have been transmitted between people just before because all of the viral diseases require a certain incubation period before showing any symptoms. Now it is very clear that the virus arrived in Seafood Market before getting transmitted to the population.

Описание: Offering a comprehensive analysis of mediated representations of global pandemics, this book engages with the construction, management, and classification of difference in the global context of a pandemic, to address what it means – culturally, politically, and economically – to live in an infected, diseased body. Marina Levina argues that mediated representations are essential in translating and making sense of difference as a category of subjectivity and as a mode of organizing and distributing change. Using textual analysis of media texts on pandemics and disease, she illustrates how they represent a larger mediascape that drafts stories of global instabilities and global health. Levina explains how the stories we tell about disease matter; that the media is instrumental in constructing and disseminating these stories; and that mediated narratives of pandemics are rooted in global flows of policies, commerce, and populations. Pandemics are, by definition, global crises.

Описание: THE SERIES: INTELLIGENT BIOMEDICAL DATA ANALYSIS
By focusing on the methods and tools for intelligent data analysis, this series aims to narrow the increasing gap between data gathering and data comprehension. Emphasis is also given to the problems resulting from automated data collection in modern hospitals, such as analysis of computer-based patient records, data warehousing tools, intelligent alarming, effective and efficient monitoring. In medicine, overcoming this gap is crucial since medical decision making needs to be supported by arguments based on existing medical knowledge as well as information, regularities and trends extracted from big data sets.
