Two months before Sally passed away, we visited her family in Hepburn, Victoria. Her step-sister Bridget is a potter. She had arranged for us to have a bit of fun throwing and decorating pots. We were grateful for the opportunity to spend the day with her family and had a wonderful time. Sometime later, after the firing, it was discovered that one of Sallys pots had a significant crack.I had read about Kintsugi and planned to repair it.
Sometime after her death, it occurred to me that healing from cancer is a similar process to kintsugi; hence the cancer kintsugi concept of repairing and reconnecting body, mind and spirit and healing beautifully and powerfully, embracing imperfection.
