Описание: This book reconnects The Federalist Papers to the study of American politics and political development, arguing that the papers contain previously unrecognized theory of institutional power, a theory that enlarges and refines the contribution of the papers to political theory, but also reconnects the papers to the study of American politics.

Описание:
The Federalist Papers is a collection of 85 articles and essays written under the pseudonym "Publius" to promote the ratification of the United States Constitution. The Federalist Papers are notable for their opposition to what later became the United States Bill of Rights. The idea of adding a Bill of Rights to the Constitution was originally controversial because the Constitution, as written, did not specifically enumerate or protect the rights of the people, rather it listed the powers of the government and left all that remained to the states and the people. Alexander Hamilton, the author of Federalist No. 84, feared that such an enumeration, once written down explicitly, would later be interpreted as a list of the only rights that people had.
The first 77 of The Federalist Papers were published serially in the Independent Journal, the New York Packet, and The Daily Advertiser between October 1787 and April 1788. The original plan was to write a total of 25 essays, the work divided evenly among the three men. In the end they wrote 85 essays in the span of six months. Jay wrote five, Madison wrote 29, and Hamilton wrote the remaining 51.
This cloth-bound book includes a Victorian inspired dust-jacket, and is limited to 100 copies.

Описание: The Federalist Papers is a collection of political essays in which three United States Founding Fathers intelligently and forcefully advocate the ratification of what became this country's supreme law. Written by the iconic American statesman, Alexander Hamilton, the original US chief justice, John Jay, and "Father of the Constitution" James Madison, this compilation of eighty-five articles explains and defends the ideals behind the highest form of law in the United States. These essays were published anonymously in New York newspapers in 1787 and 1788, and they foresaw many of the headline-grabbing issues surrounding impeachment, corruption, bureaucracy, and regulation that we read about today. Hailed by Thomas Jefferson as the best commentary ever written on the principles of government, The Federalist Papers are now available in this elegantly designed, unabridged hardcover edition with jacket that includes an introduction by American history scholar and author Andrew S.
