Описание: This book is intended for periodontal residents and practicing periodontists who wish to incorporate the principles of moderate sedation into daily practice. Comprehensive airway management and rescue skills are then documented in detail so that the patient may be properly managed in the event that the sedation progresses beyond the intended level.

Описание: ГЇВїВЅ This book contains peer reviewed papers accepted for presentation at the National Conference on Advances in Environmental Science & Technology.
Описание: This book builds on the recent publications on cities and climate change, resilient cities and coasts, and sustainable cities, and looks at the ways in which current planning approaches will need to be adapted to embrace concepts including green growth, planetary boundaries, healthy cities and longer-term sustainability.
Описание: This book comprises the selected papers from the 1st Springer Conference of the Arabian Journal of Geosciences (CAJG-1), Tunisia 2018. The volume is of interest to all researchers and practitioners in the fields of Hydrology, Hydrogeology, Hydrochemistry, Water Resources and Hydrologic Engineering. Water is a dynamic, finite, and vulnerable but resilient natural resource to be protected in an environmentally sustainable manner. Water systems in different frameworks requires a comprehensive understanding of climatology, geology, hydrogeology, hydrochemistry, hydrodynamics, and surface hydrology. In addition, it is highlighted the role of the variability and climate change in water systems. Furthermore, water has a vital significance to the entire socio-economic sector. This volume offers an overview of the state-of-the-art related to water science and technology in model regions in Europe, Africa, Middle East, Asia and America, but mainly focuses on the Mediterranean environment and surrounding regions. It gives new insights on characterisation, evaluation, quality, management, protection, modelling on environmental hydrology, groundwater, hydrochemistry, sustainable water resources studies and hydrologic engineering approaches by international researchers. Main topics include:1. Hydrology, Climatology and Water-Related Ecosystems2. Hydrochemistry and Isotopic Hydrology3. Groundwater Assessment and Management: mapping, exploration, abstraction and modelling4. Water Resources Sustainability and Climate Change5. Hydrologic Engineering and Urban Groundwater
The Technocratic Antarctic is an ethnographic account of the scientists and policymakers who work on Antarctica. In a place with no indigenous people, Antarctic scientists and policymakers use expertise as their primary model of governance. Scientific research and policymaking are practices that inform each other, and the Antarctic environment—with its striking beauty, dramatic human and animal lives, and specter of global climate change—not only informs science and policy but also lends Antarctic environmentalism a particularly technocratic patina.
Jessica O’Reilly conducted most of her research for this book in New Zealand, home of the "Antarctic Gateway" city of Christchurch, and on an expedition to Windless Bight, Antarctica, with the New Zealand Antarctic Program. O’Reilly also follows the journeys Antarctic scientists and policymakers take to temporarily "Antarctic" places such as science conferences, policy workshops, and the international Antarctic Treaty meetings in Scotland, Australia, and India. Competing claims of nationalism, scientific disciplines, field experiences, and personal relationships among Antarctic environmental managers disrupt the idea of a utopian epistemic community. O’Reilly focuses on what emerges in Antarctica among the complicated and hybrid forms of science, sociality, politics, and national membership found there. The Technocratic Antarctic unfolds the historical, political, and moral contexts that shape experiences of and decisions about the Antarctic environment.
