PREFAZIONE
Con questo mio lavoro affronto un analisi approfondita del metodo pedagogico dell'arpista francese Henriette Renié. Musicista di fama mondiale come virtuosa, pedagoga e compositrice, che continua ad influenzare generazioni di arpisti ispirati dalla sua eredità.
Con le sue composizioni ha esteso le possibilità dell'arpa come strumento solistico sia tecnicamente che musicalmente. Ha scritto composizioni originali per arpa sola, per arpa e violino, per arpa e violoncello, per arpa e orchestra, trio con violino e violoncello, numerose trascrizioni per arpa sola e dodici volumi di trascrizioni di diversi livelli di difficoltà Les classiques de la harpe.
Sebbene la maggior parte dei suoi lavori siano stati pubblicati, alcune delle sue composizioni e trascrizioni esistono solo in forma di manoscritto.
La stessa arpista americana di fama internazionale Susann McDonald, con la quale ho studiato tra il 2003 e il 2005 negli Stati Uniti, ha avuto la fortuna di conoscerla personalmente e di studiare con lei negli anni cinquanta. Tramite lei ho appreso la passione che Henriette Renié aveva per questo strumento e che era capace di trasmettere agli altri, la consapevolezza che si deve continuamente ricercare per poter migliorare, che non bisogna accontentarsi dei livelli raggiunti e che, come Miss McDonald è solita dire in classe, «non basta essere brave arpiste, ma bisogna essere eccellenti arpiste . Il mio approccio con l'opera di Henriette Renié è stato quindi speciale, direi privilegiato.
Ho cercato di mantenere fede alla divisione in lezioni che viene usata nel Metodo per introdurre la tecnica esecutiva dell'arpa e ho affrontato nel dettaglio gli argomenti che ho ritenuto essere quelli più importanti e necessari per imparare a suonare l'arpa.
Non esistendo una versione italiana del Metodo completo per arpa di H. Renié, spero che il mio lavoro possa contribuire alla conoscenza dei fondamenti di questo metodo pedagogico.
