Vor einem Jahrhundert wurde durch Professor Willi K kenthal in Berlin das Projekt um das 'HANDBUCH DER ZOOLOGIE' ins Leben gerufen. In diesem, heute renommierten Nachschlagewerk, wird die Naturgeschichte der St mme des Tierreiches von den Einzellern bis zu den S ugetieren in acht B nden mit thematischem Schwerpunkt behandelt:

Die B nde IV Arthopoda: Insecta und VII Mammalia werden bis dato kontinuierlich in neuer Z hlung durch neuste Forschungsergebnisse und in englischer Sprache erweitert.
In den letzten Jahrzehnten folgen die wissenschaftlichen Erkenntnisse immer rascher aufeinander.
