Описание: For students of electrical, electronics and mechanics departments, this book introduces the reader to the design philosophy behind vector control systems. It includes the mathematical motor models based on complex-space vector descriptions as well as the control structures for DC motors.
Описание: Focuses on the fundamental aspects of analysis, modeling and design of digital control loops around high-frequency switched-mode power converters in a systematic and rigorous manner. This book presents comprehensive treatment of digital control theory for power converters.
This book presents a novel, generalized approach to the design of nonlinear state feedback control laws for a large class of underactuated mechanical systems based on application of the block backstepping method. The control law proposed here is robust against the effects of model uncertainty in dynamic and steady-state performance and addresses the issue of asymptotic stabilization for the class of underactuated mechanical systems.
An underactuated system is defined as one for which the dimension of space spanned by the configuration vector is greater than that of the space spanned by the control variables. Control problems concerning underactuated systems currently represent an active field of research due to their broad range of applications in robotics, aerospace, and marine contexts.
The book derives a generalized theory of block backstepping control design for underactuated mechanical systems, and examines several case studies that cover interesting examples of underactuated mechanical systems. The mathematical derivations are described using well-known notations and simple algebra, without the need for any special previous background in higher mathematics. The chapters are lucidly described in a systematic manner, starting with control system preliminaries and moving on to a generalized description of the block backstepping method, before turning to several case studies. Simulation and experimental results are also provided to aid in reader comprehension.
Описание: A voltage converter changes the voltage of an electrical power source and is usually combined with other components to create a power supply. This title is devoted to the control of static converters, which deals with pulse-width modulation (PWM) techniques, and also discusses methods for current control. Various application cases are treated.
Описание: * Unique in presenting a completely new theoretic solution to control electric power in a simple way * Discusses the application of predicitive control in motor drives, with several examples and case studies * Matlab is included on a complimentary website so the reader can run their own simulations .
Описание: A timely introduction to current research on PID and predictive control by one of the leading authors on the subjectPID and Predictive Control of Electric Drives and Power Supplies using MATLAB/Simulink examines the classical control system strategies, su
Описание: This contributed volume is written by key specialists working in multidisciplinary fields in electrical engineering, linking control theory, power electronics, artificial neural networks, embedded controllers and signal processing. The authors of each chapter report the state of the art of the various topics addressed and present results of their own research, laboratory experiments and successful applications. The presented solutions concentrate on three main areas of interest:· motion control in complex electromechanical systems, including sensorless control;· fault diagnosis and fault tolerant control of electric drives;· new control algorithms for power electronics converters. The chapters and the complete book possess strong monograph attributes. Important practical and theoretical problems are deeply and accurately presented on the background of an exhaustive state-of the art review. Many results are completely new and were never published before. Well-known control methods like field oriented control (FOC) or direct torque control (DTC) are referred as a starting point for modifications or are used for comparison. Among numerous control theories used to solve particular problems are: nonlinear control, robust control, adaptive control, Lyapunov techniques, observer design, model predictive control, neural control, sliding mode control, signal filtration and processing, fault diagnosis, and fault tolerant control.
Описание: Provides methods for improving PID controller performance. This title covers derivation of analytical expressions for relay feedback responses; shapes of relay responses and improved closed-loop control and performance assessment; and, autotuning for handling process nonlinearity in multiple-model-based cases.
Описание: The time delays in controllers and actuators can either deteriorate or improve the dynamic performance of a controlled mechanical system. Thus, it is desirable to gain an insight into the effect of time delays on the dynamics of a practical system in its design phase. This monograph represents the recent advances in system modeling, analysis of stability, robust stability and bifurcation by using some new mathematical tools such as generalized Sturm criterion and Dixon's resultant elimination of polynomials. The theoretical results are demonstrated through a number of examples of active vehicle chassis, structure control, as well as the control of chaos of mechanical systems.
Описание: This book addresses the theoretical and practical circuit and system concepts that underpin the design of reliable and reproducible, high performance, monolithic feedback circuits. It is intended for practicing electronics engineers and students who wish to acquire an insightful understanding of the ways in which open loop topologies, closed loop architectures, and fundamental circuit theoretic issues determine the limits of performance of analog networks. Since many of the problems that underpin high speed digital circuit design are a subet of the analysis and design dilemmas confronted by the wideband analog circuit designers, the book is also germane to high performance digital circuit design.
Описание: This book provides readers specializing in ultra-low power supply design for self-powered applications an invaluable reference on reconfigurable switched capacitor power converters. Readers will benefit from a comprehensive introduction to the design of robust power supplies for energy harvesting and self-power applications, focusing on the use of reconfigurable switched capacitor based DC-DC converters, which is ideal for such applications. Coverage includes all aspects of switched capacitor power supply designs, from fundamentals, to reconfigurable power stages, and sophisticated controller designs.
