Este estudio est dedicado al castellano hablado en la Comunidad Aut noma Vasca (CAV o Pa s Vasco) y, en particular, en Getxo. La autora investiga si el castellano hablado en esta regi n es una nica variedad, o bien se compone de diversas variedades, con un n cleo com n, usadas por los diferentes grupos de hablantes de la comunidad de comunicaci n vasca.
En la parte te rica, el estudio responde a esta pregunta elaborando una definici n de qu debe entenderse por castellano del Pa s Vasco , teniendo en cuenta diversos factores sociales relevantes a la hora de describir la comunidad de comunicaci n vasca. Le precede un amplio repaso de otros trabajos dedicados al castellano hablado en la CAV.
En virtud de la definici n propuesta se a ade un estudio basado en un corpus oral de 20 entrevistas con informantes castellanohablantes monoling es de Getxo. Realizado desde una perspectiva variacional, dicho estudio analiza, cualitativamente, 17 fen menos ling sticos que se suelen considerar caracter sticos del castellano del Pa s Vasco. Asimismo, se proporcionan datos cuantitativos sobre la ocurrencia de cada fen meno. A partir de sus resultados, la autora razona cu les de los fen menos estudiados forman parte del castellano de Getxo.
