Описание: As big emerging economies, BRICS countries have real demands for their currencies internationalization. China started facilitating RMB internationalization after the 2008 financial crisis and has made significant achievement since then. RMB internationalization is facing challenge now because the expectation of RMB appreciation has disappeared and capital account has not completely opened yet. Promoting BRICS’s currencies internationalization by cooperation among BRICS countries will be of benefit for both RMB internationalization and diversifying the international monetary system.

This report gives some proposals for facilitating BRICS currencies internationalization through financial cooperation: promoting the development of local currency bond market. This report discusses enhancing the local currency financing and investing in BRICS countries, further strengthening the currency swap and direct trade, launching the local currency settlement in commodity trade, piloting the financial infrastructure among BRICS countries with block chain.
