Описание: In America's National Parks, astounding photographs of the raw natural beauty of American national parks are arranged into chapters highlighting the best sights to see.
The untamed majesty on display in America's National Parks is awe inspiring. From the cloudy peaks of Mount McKinley in Alaska to the clear waters of Dry Tortugas, the national parks of the United States are much more than an ecosystem of corals, volcanoes, mountains, wolves, and bears. It is an immense altar that consecrates the spirit of a people. The American landscape is a stage where nature has displayed its most evocative shows.
The American national parks include the fantastic obelisks of Yosemite, the geothermal phenomena of Yellowstone, the depths of the Grand Canyon, and the stone arches that dot Utah and Arizona. The landscape is carved by the erosion and the deep movements of the earth's crust, which unearth fossils and rock sediments. Traveling along these lands is a journey through geological history.
Take an armchair tour of a nation's wild heart, a land of grizzlies and sequoias, where America retains its dream of nature and frontier.

Описание: This book explores the implications of freedom as a non-domination-oriented view for understanding EU security regulation and its constitutional implications. At a time when the European borders are under pressure and with the refugee and migration crisis, which escalated in 2015, the idea of exploring a constitutional theory for the 'Area of Freedom, Security and Justice' (AFSJ) might seem to be a utopian project. This appears especially true in the light of the increased threat of terrorism in Europe (and on a global scale) and where the expanding EU security agenda is often advanced through the administrative law path, in contrast to the constitutional trajectory. Add to this the prolonged financial crisis, which continues to cast a long shadow on the future development of EU integration, and which suggests that Europe needs to 're-invent itself' beyond the sphere of economics. Therefore, it is precisely because of the current uncertainties regarding the progress of the EU and the constitutional law project that a constitutional take on the AFSJ is of particular importance. The book investigates the meaning of non-domination and the idea of justice and justification in the area of EU security regulation. In doing so, it focuses on the development of an AFSJ, what it means, and why it represents a fascinating example of contemporary constitutional law with interacting layers of security regulation, human rights law and transnational legal theory at its core.

Why Is Mindfulness Important?
Although mindfulness is not automatic and does not occur spontaneously, it can be learned and practiced so that it can be accessed intentionally when needed. Some of the characteristics of mindfulness include non-judgmental awareness, paying attention on purpose, remaining non-judgmental, staying in the present, being non-reactive, and remaining openhearted and compassionate.
Mindfulness has many benefits that can help to reduce the stress associated with daily hassles:
- Increased acceptance--By not making evaluations, participants can accept the internal thoughts in their mind and see these messages as simple mental processes rather than pure truths.
- Greater awareness--Participants will be able to experience expanded awareness and a clearer vision of the world and its processes.
- Less intense reactions--Participants will be less inclined to react when experiencing the stress of daily hassles. Instead, they will develop an observer stance through which they are free from evaluation, attachment, and frustration.
- Relaxed approach--Participants will learn to relax to be better able to cope with worry, anxiety, and stress related to daily hassles in life.
- Calm demeanor--Participants develop a state of mind in which they are mentally and physically at peace. They will be prepared to deal more effectively with the daily worry, anxiety, and stress caused by everyday hassles. They will experience greater overall well-being.
- Mental functioning--Participants will experience greater concentration, focus, and self-awareness that will promote greater personal and professional growth and development.
