Описание: This book is addressed to all those who, after finishing the high school, wish a practical initiation in the domain of integral calculus. This is the fourth volume of the series "Mathematics for future engineering". To provide useful tools for (future) engineers and for specialists, in general, we emphasized applications of line, double, surface and triple integrals to mechanics and physics (e.g., centers of mass, moments of inertia, static moments, etc.) We tried to make the involved mathematics as attractive as possible, by simplifying the presentation without loosing the mathematical rigor of the results. To increase accessibility and to encourage the reader to get a technical know-how about integral calculus, we provided for each newly introduced notion a series of applications and solved problems; each chapter ends by a section containing exercises and problems, each one of these being accompanied by hints and answers. The mathematical concepts presented here require only elementary notions, usually learnt in the high school. Actually, the first chapter begins with a recapitulation of these notions, accompanied by numerous examples. The references contain, along with books, some links, which can be helpful for the reader.
The starting point of this publication is that in LSP domains many studies have been devoted to the languages of law, medicine, media, tourism, advertising, arts and business, but they have not fully exploited the gender perspective which can disclose new insights into the use of specialized lexicon, the role of translation, the influence of cultural aspects, and social habits and values in the transmission of equality or in-equality notions. This volume aims at bridging the gap existing between LSP translation and gender issues, offering a broad view of research on translation and gender/sexuality, LSP and the professional world. The purpose is to broaden the discussion on gender awareness in specialized language and translation, to pinpoint gender issues in audiovisual translation, to analyse gendered language in the media and advertising, and last but not least, to consider gender differences reiterated through language in specific domains.

In The Politics of Social Inclusion and Labor Representation, Heather Connolly, Stefania Marino, and Miguel Mart?nez Lucio compare trade union responses to immigration and the related political and labour market developments in the Netherlands, Spain, and the United Kingdom. The labor movement is facing significant challenges as a result of such changes in the modern context. As such, the authors closely examine the idea of social inclusion and how trade unions are coping with and adapting to the need to support immigrant workers and develop various types of engagement and solidarity strategies in the European context.
Traversing the dramatically shifting immigration patterns since the 1970s, during which emerged a major crisis of capitalism, the labor market, and society, and the contingent rise of anti-immigration sentiment and new forms of xenophobia, the authors assess and map how trade unions have to varying degrees understood and framed these issues and immigrant labor.
