Описание: Eph 3:10 (Principalities and Authorities in the Heavenly Places) articulates the related cluster of terms that express the «Pauline» spirit world in Ephesians’. Through a psychological-hermeneutical study, this book contributes to provide a theologically-founded response to the immense challenges the spirit world apprehensions among the Igbo (Africans), pose to true discipleship in these settings. Identifying the strongly influential role played here by the Igbo traditional religion/world view(s) and the foundation of these biblical terms in the attempts at Weltbew?ltigung, the book highlights how proper appreciation of the Christological paraenetics of Eph enhances critical consciousness and cognitive reconstruction towards mature faith and societal betterment.

Описание:
DayVotionals is a compilation of bite-size nuggets from the Word of God that strive to make biblical truths clear and relatable, with the ultimate intention that we not only know the truth but that we practice the truths that we know.
DayVotionals is a labor of love and is a collection of some of the things that God has taught me over the years. It is written for everyone, regardless of your level of relationship with God. The prescribed method of consumption will be to take a nugget, study it, meditate upon it, by turning it around, over and over in your mind, till it takes root in your spirit and brings about illumination. Once that light comes, to make the process complete, you should walk in the light of that word, and only then can you enjoy the benefit of the nugget.
While it is to be consumed by all, not everyone is at the same level of depth in God, so not all bites are equal. Some bites may be a nibble for someone; whereas, they will be a mouthful or perhaps several mouthfuls for others. The ideal thing is to pace yourself; bite off what you can chew on, settle that truth in your spirit, then come back for more.
The presentation is easy, but please understand that there is depth here, so study the material and use this as a study manual.
My prayer for you is that with each bite, your capacity is increased, and soon, you'll have all these truths and more rooted in your inner man, and the practice of them will be your light that men see and glorify our Father.
Open yourself to this process, and I pray that you enjoy the deepening of your relationship with God.

Описание: In Black Boys: The Aesthetics of British Urban Film, Nwonka offers the first dedicated analysis of Black British urban cinematic and televisual representation as a textual encounter with Blackness, masculinity and urban identity where the generic construction of images and narratives of Black urbanity is informed by the (un)knowable allure of Black urban Otherness. Foregrounding the textual Black urban identity as a historical formation, and drawing on a range of theoretical frameworks that allow for an examination of the emergence and continued social, cultural and industrial investment in the fictitious and non-fictitious images of Black urban identities and geographies, Nwonka convenes a dialogue between the disciplines of Film and Television Studies, Philosophy, Cultural Studies, Black Studies, Sociology and Criminology. Here, Nwonka ventures beyond what can be understood as the perennial and simplistic optic of racial stereotype in order to advance a more expansive reading of the Black British urban text as the outcome of a complex conjunctural interaction between social phenomena, cultural policy, political discourse and the continuously shifting politics of Black representation. Through the analysis of a number of texts and political and socio-cultural moments, Nwonka identifies Black urban textuality as conditioned by a bidirectionality rooted in historical and contemporary questions of race, racism and anti-Blackness but equally attentive to the social dynamics that render the screen as a site of Black recognition, authorship and authenticity. Analysed in the context of realism, social and political allegory, urban multiculture, Black corporeality and racial, gender and sexual politics, in integrating such considerations into the fabrics of a thematic reading of the Black urban text and through the writings of Stuart Hall, Paul Gilroy, Judith Butler and Derrida, Black Boys presents a critical rethinking of the contextual and aesthetic factors in the visual constructions of Black urban identity.

Описание: The Igbo are one of the most populous ethnic groups in Nigeria and are perhaps best known and celebrated in the work of Chinua Achebe. In this landmark collection on Igbo society and arts, Toyin Falola and Raphael Chijioke Njoku have compiled a detailed and innovative examination of the Igbo experience in Africa and in the diaspora. Focusing on institutions and cultural practices, the volume covers the enslavement, middle passage, and American experience of the Igbo as well as their return to Africa and aspects of Igbo language, society, and cultural arts. By employing a variety of disciplinary perspectives, this volume presents a comprehensive view of how the Igbo were integrated into the Atlantic world through the slave trade and slavery, the transformations of Igbo identities and culture, and the strategies for resistance employed by the Igbo in the New World. Moving beyond descriptions of generic African experiences, this collection includes 21 essays by prominent scholars throughout the world.
