This book comprises 30 selected papers that were presented at the 5th World Conference of Pluricentric Languages and their Non-Dominant Varieties (WCPCL) held at the University of Mainz (Germany). The conference was organized by the Working Group on Non-Dominant Varieties of Pluricentric Languages (WGNDV). The authors come from 15 countries and deal with 14 pluricentric languages and 31 (non-dominant) varieties around the world. The number of known PLCLs has again been extended. There are now 43 PLCLs in all. Apart from a large number of papers on Spanish, French and Portuguese, «new» and little researched PLCLs are also presented in the contributions: Albanian, Hungarian, Malay, Persian, Somali and Romanian.
Liminalit?t ist ein Signum der Gegenwart. Die neuere Literatur, insbesondere die Lyrik, nimmt seismographisch liminale Ph?nomene der Gegenwart wahr und bildet vielf?ltige liminale Formen und Funktionen aus. Zentral betroffen ist das sprechende Subjekt, das in Transition versetzt wird: Zersetzung, Aufl?sung, Fluidit?t, aber auch Transparenz und Transformation ?ffnen seine Grenzen zum Anderen: zu den Mitmenschen, der Natur oder auch der Transzendenz. Der vorliegende Band vereint Aufs?tze, die Liminalit?t in Bezug auf Schwellenzeit als conditio historiae der Gegenwart, auf Gattungstransitionen und auf Grenzerfahrungen des Subjekts behandeln. Der Schwerpunkt liegt auf russisch- und deutschsprachigen Gedichten. Dar?ber hinaus werden weitere slavische und ostasiatische Literaturen einzeln und komparatistisch behandelt sowie andere Gattungen, intermediale Formen und philosophische Perspektiven einbezogen.
This book analyzes the literature that emerged from World War II. It also examines the literature that resulted from the two major earthquakes that have struck Japan over the course of over the last hundred years. The small number of volumes previously published examining the literature of war and earthquakes in Japan have almost always focused exclusively on fiction while this volume focuses mainly on poetry. This volume breaks new ground in its attempt to draw together and analyze the literature produced by these tragedies as a single phenomenon. It provides a new template for the literature of trauma produced by such events as the earthquake that accompanied the tsunami and nuclear meltdown in northeast Japan in 2011.
