Описание: Foreword The content of this book is dealing with distribution systems for mutual funds in Germany. The production and distribution for these investment vehicles is usually organised along multiple structural levels: The producers of investment funds avail themselves of banks and insurance networks as distribution agents, and consequently do not have direct access to the investors. Both groups, especially in the last couple of years, have expressed strong interest in optimising the marketing of these financial services. It has to be taken into account that in Germany - as well as in other countries in Continental Europe - the producers of investment funds usually are part of banks or insurance groups. This translates into a very strong integration of value chains related to producers and distribution agents, resulting in a tendency of banks to sell primarily their own products to their clients. However, the economic crisis at the beginning of this decade highlights that profitability in the mutual fund market requires growth (i.e. de facto the acquisition of new clients). As alternative distributions channels, like for example direct marketing or distribution via independent financial advisors, play only a relative minor role, this growth requires the optimisation of existing and exploration of new relationships in particular with the distribution channel of banks.

Описание: Since 1979 the world has witnessed a remarkable cycle of individual bankruptcy law reform. Changes in capitalist economies, financial crises and political interest groups all contributed to this cycle of reform. Differences exist between European systems in terms of access criteria, institutional frameworks, financing and discharge conditions. What explains these differences within Europe and those between Europe and the US? This book draws on insights from historical institutionalism to illustrate the role of timing, path dependency and unintended consequences in the development of individual bankruptcy law. The book presents case studies of individual bankruptcy law in the US, France, Sweden and England and Wales. It analyses how, following the Great Recession of 2008, international financial institutions identified the significance of household debt and individual bankruptcy for financial architecture. The EU imposed individual bankruptcy reform on certain Member States, and proposed bankruptcy harmonisation to promote individual entrepreneurialism. The book examines the likelihood of greater convergence on an EU individual bankruptcy paradigm, and how this fits conceptions of neo-liberalism and the social market. Finally, the book discusses whether the international emergence of individual bankruptcy law represents a progressive step or a band-aid for the costs of neo-liberal policies, where a significant number of people live close to the precipice of over-indebtedness.
Описание: Doctoral Thesis / Dissertation from the year 2011 in the subject Business economics - Offline Marketing and Online Marketing, course: Ph. D., language: English, abstract: Private Labels occupy a significant share of organized retail in Europe and United States. With recent growth of organized retail in India Private Labels also emerged in Indian retail landscape. Though private labels arrived in India long back but still Private Labels have not picked up in India, the way they have picked up in other countries. Many of the Indian retailers like Shoppers Stop, Future Group, Tata's Croma and Aditya Birla Retail's More, Spenser's etc are relaying on Private Label strategy in a big way as consumers seek quality products at affordable prices. Besides, rapid technological and socio-economic changes over the last decade have affected the buying behavior of consumers, forcing retailers to innovate and build new brands (private brands/ store brands) across different categories and various price points to attract more buyers to their stores. They have not only created new labels but have customized and localized those products to suit Indian tastes. Private Labels have attracted attention of researchers from the western world for a long period of time. In India even after introduction of Private Labels by retailers very few studies have been conducted to understand different dimensions like introduction and management of Private Labels by retailers and adoption by Indian consumers. The book presents an analysis of consumer perception and attitude towards Private Labels in India which is the outcome of study conducted in NCR region in India during 2008 - 2010.
Описание: Since 1979 the world has witnessed a remarkable cycle of personal insolvency law reform. Changes in capitalist economies, financial crises and political interest groups all contributed to this cycle of reform. This book examines the role of interest groups and distinct narratives in shaping reform in different countries while drawing attention to the role of timing, path dependency and unintended consequences in the development of personal insolvency law. The book presents case studies of personal insolvency law in the US, France, Sweden, and England and Wales. It then analyses how, following the Great Recession of 2008, international financial institutions paid greater attention to the significance of household debt in contributing to financial instability and the role of individual insolvency law in providing a fresh start. Personal insolvency law reform became part of EU responses to the eurozone crisis and the EU has proposed harmonisation of individual insolvency law to promote entrepreneurialism. This book examines the extent to which these developments represent an emerging international commonsense about personal insolvency and its relationship to neo-liberalism. Finally, this book discusses whether the international emergence of individual personal insolvency law represents a progressive step or a band-aid for the costs of neo-liberal policies, where a significant number of people live close to the precipice of over-indebtedness.
