Описание: Language teachers’ competencies in computer-assisted language learning (CALL) are a crucial factor affecting their own implementation of CALL. However, there is still a concern that many language teachers are not adequately prepared to make effective use of CALL or to identify and evaluate potential CALL solutions. This can be the result of many different factors and raises the question of how to train teachers to develop their CALL knowledge and skills to a greater degree. The discussion of approaches to training language teachers in the use of technology adopted in areas of Australia, the UK and the US provides valuable insights for those already involved in this area, and inspiration for those who have some interest in carrying out this kind of training, but as yet have little or no experience. This book explores the current status of CALL teacher education and discusses issues and challenges CALL teacher educators face in their own contexts. Specifically, it looks at postgraduate CALL courses offered at different universities to find ways of improving CALL teacher training. It represents the first overview of a topic that is relevant to most postgraduate courses in Applied Linguistics or TESOL across the globe. The use of technology for language learning and teaching is increasingly common but, as is so often the case, training for teachers in how to use that technology remains limited, to a large extent by lack of expertise among trainers.

Innovative Teaching: Best Practices from Business and Beyond for Mathematics Teachers provides educators with new and exciting ways to introduce material and methods to motivate and engage students by showing how some of the techniques commonly used in the business world - and beyond - are applicable to the world of education. It also offers educators practical advice with regard to the changing culture of education, keeping up with technology, navigating politics at work, interacting with colleagues, developing leadership skills, group behavior, and gender differences.
Innovative Teaching demonstrates how the classroom environment is similar to the marketplace. Educators, like businesses, for example, must capture and hold the attention of their audience while competing with a constant stream of "noise." With the introduction of the Internet and the wide use of social media, promoters understand that they must not only engage their audience, but also incorporate audience feedback into the promotional work and product or service they offer. Innovative Teaching shows educators how to take the best practices from business - and beyond - and recombine these resources for appropriate use in the classroom.

Описание: ServiceNow is a powerful ITSM (IT Service Management) software solution with a massively configurable back-end. One of the greatest benefits of ServiceNow is that it lets you do just about anything you could want to do, to suit the needs of your business. On that same note, one of the most dangerous things about ServiceNow, is that it lets you do just about anything With such freedom and capacity for customization, comes risk, but that risk is not without great reward, which you can realize with a strong understanding of best-practice.DescriptionThe goal of this book is to explore the pitfalls, standards, and best-practices that most ServiceNow ITSM developers either learn the hard way, or never learn at all. These are the things that every developer wishes they knew from day one, and which - once learned - will make you a more effective and efficient developer. This book will teach you how to avoid pitfalls, and empower you with knowledge that will allow you to build much more robust, resilient, powerful, and efficient solutions within the platform. Having an understanding of why a given standard is what it is (and why it's important), will not only make you more likely to adhere to it, but will empower you to apply the logic and underlying concepts behind those standards to other areas of the platform and development. It'll make you a more effective administrator, developer, or architect. That's that spirit in which this compendium was written: Teaching and explaining, not simply listing out a series of arcane edicts under the heading of "best-practice". The ServiceNow Development handbook will serve to boost your knowledge, your confidence, and your career.
