S'inscrivant dans le champ des recherches concernant les repr sentations des l ves sur la langue, cette tude exploratoire utilise un dispositif didactique particulier, le tri de mots vis e grammaticale, afin de recueillir des donn es lors du suivi longitudinal d'une classe situ e en zone d' ducation prioritaire, sur une dur e de deux ann es, en CE2 et CM1 ( l ves g s de 8 10 ans).
Le corpus constitu par les traces crites produites par les l ves a fait l'objet d'un traitement statistique afin d'en permettre la lisibilit . Les outils d'analyse linguistiques et didactiques utilis s ont permis de conforter des hypoth ses d j mises, mais aussi de d gager des tendances nouvelles concernant l'acquisition des classes grammaticales par les l ves de l' cole l mentaire.
Les r sultats expos s portent sur les savoirs et savoir-faire des l ves, mais aussi sur l' clairage que ces conceptions apportent sur les syst mes d'explication de la langue. Entre grammaire scolaire et linguistique, il s'agit de mieux comprendre le point de vue des l ves sur la langue afin d'ouvrir des pistes de r flexions didactiques.
